He was decent, but one thing I cannot take from a Celtic player, especially a central midfielder, is to pull out of tackles. Absolute criminal.

He was turning sideways into tackles and jumping out the way.

He is a cracking player, but got a lesson today on how to get kicked by unpunished opponents. So he either learns that this is how it’s gonna be or we will keep seeing this kind of performance.

Both he and Maeda did it today. I was * fuming. Can’t happen again. They also both took on absolutely ridiculous attempts at goal that were never going in in a million years. Infuriating.

Seems to be a bit of a luxury player tbh. We need someone who's willing to do both sides of the game next to McGregor and too often he comes up short.

Thought he played decent. Some of his passes upfield was outstanding imo. He's not used to the opposition being allowed to assault you and get nothing. Can see how good a player he can become. Imo he will be suited to Europe where players aren't allowed to assault you. We certainly need a big * in the middle though for these games.

As much as I thought we had won a watch the first few times I saw Hatate play his form has fallen off a cliff. Whether that is lack of rest after a long J-league season or difficulty adjusting off the pitch I don't know. I do know one thing- McGregor is much more effective as a no.8 and we badly need a tough tackling playmaker like a prime Scott Brown. For me that is a priority. Hatate has a bit to do to win over a few fans I think.

Hatate has a lot of potential, but you can see he still has a lot of learning to do.

I've seen a couple of people pointing out the tackles he pulled out of and it's right enough. It might sound a bit old-fashioned but you can't give an inch in these games. Pulling out of tackles or staying down after a nasty tackle (the Ryan Jack one) show weakness and fans (as well as the players) smell blood.

But his decision-making on the ball needs work, too. His first-time passing looks great when it comes off, but he can look really rough in possession at times and his play can be a bit rushed. I also think he tried the spectacular a bit too often. At one point he tried a sort of volleyed cross from the right hand side when it wasn't really on.

Good player but has rough edges still.

I don't think he's a guy that wants to be in the engine room doing the dirty work. Fair enough for teams we are going to steam roll and he can do all the nice stuff but when the sleeves need rolled up I don't like him in that number 8 position. McGregor should be in there with a proper holding midfielder alongside him for these tougher games.

    Hes a work in progress.

Really showing a level of inconsistency atm and his engine and stamina has dropped in these Hun games a few times. To me he still looks off the pace.

I thought Hatate looked a bit lost yesterday and has done for a few games. I'm chalking it up to being tired as he tends to fade in the second half as well. He looks a bit jaded and doesn't have the same vision he did only a few weeks ago. Time for a rest ahead of next season, let Turnbull and McGregor step into that position for a few games.

One of the reason he may have seemed lost might be down to where he has been playing in those games. With Rogic playing more like a second striker or pure number 10 it has meant Hatate has been deeper almost beside McGregor.

In most games where he has been very good for us he has played much further forward. This is a lot closer to his main role at Kawasaki where he played as one of the more attacking midfielders. It could be down to this is why he doesn’t look as comfortable. He also came into the game for a spell when O’Riley came on.

I agree he looks less comfortable the farther back he's playing. There's still something lacking in terms of his energy, though. The first few games he played for us he was everywhere, pushing forward, tracking back, but he's struggled to keep up that level of output. Even moving forward now as well, he's losing possession, quite a few of his passes go wayward, he just looks a step off the mark in general.

Two games in a row against them he has looked finished around the 50-60 minute mark.

He’s definitely a player but I don’t think he’s got the consistency / experience yet to be a first choice for the big games.

He isn’t a battler either and lost the ball countless times yesterday because he was an easy target for them.

He's a baller but he's too inconsistent and will be a man down in fast paced physical games like yesterday. Also looks * after about an hour too.

REO HATATE admits "emotional and physical fatigue" is kicking in with the games coming thick and fast for Celtic at the business end of the season.

The Hoops midfielder has been a hit since arriving in Glasgow in January after joining from Kawasaki Frontale.

Early goals in his Celtic career against Hearts and Rangers made an instant impression with the Parkhead faithful, but his performance level has dipped in recent weeks.

Hatate admits he is finding the hectic Scottish fixture schedule difficult, but he is hoping to adapt his game to help his side clinch the Premiership crown with five games remaining.

He told Sportiva: "Since my debut against Hibernian I've felt the intensity of the European game and played a number of games. The fact that I've kept getting appearances shows that the team trusts in me and that's given me a lot of confidence.

"But for what feels like the first time, I'm definitely feeling emotional and physical fatigue. It's been three months since I arrived in Glasgow and getting used to a new environment on and off the pitch has been trial and error.

"In Japan there were ways I could refresh myself and take a mental break but that's difficult when you're playing so frequently.

"There are times when can't make a run on goal, or hold back on the attack to preserve the team's balance, and I have to recognise my fatigue.

"For the national team I had to go to Australia, then Japan, and back to Scotland. It was my first call-up as an overseas player and I was confronted with the difficulty of maintaining your condition while traveling and then immediately having to get results for your team.

"When you're away from your team on national team duty there's a chance you can lose your position.

"My first day back at Celtic there was a moment that I saw two balls and was clearly jetlagged but in Europe you need to be tough enough to stay fit and fight for your position.

"So to start against Rangers gave me a lot of confidence. It was huge to be able to help create the equaliser.

"On the match sheet I didn't score a goal or record an assist, but it was huge that I was able to leave my mark on the team's victory.

"Daizen (Maeda) talked about how even though the team has been building on what it's been doing, those of us who joined mid-season have added our own strength and helped push us into first place.

"I definitely feel tired but I want to keep doing whatever I can to help the team win the league, and I think I'll become tougher and stronger as a result."

Its really not the time to be experimenting. See the league out and then if there are games to spare play him. Im wanting our strongest line up every week.

I dont think a single player admitting he's tired will make a jot of difference to Ross County. :giggle1:

Should’ve been rested anyway, but that certainly confirms it for me, the lad needs a break.
