Frightening to think how bad last year was that there was a bit of hype about guys like him and Soro coming in to this season.

 

Honestly think i jinxed it, said to my bro where has welsh went, unfortunately it was on our bench, absolute horrendous cameo.

The boy has barely kicked a ball for us this season, he was chucked on to a game where our super heroes were nowhere to be seen today.

Give him a break.

 

Can't remember you ever saying anything positive about any of our players mate. Nothing personal.

 

Feel kinda bad for the guy. Fish out of water at right back.

 

He did * all wrong. It was one of those days.

 

He was probably our best player last season.

 

Does feel more than a bit off, giving a player who has had no game time for months, is a CB playing at RB for his first time, any sort of criticism given how poor some of our established players where today.

 

As a squad player? 100%.

Edit: Even if I didn’t, the point is that folk are on here lobbing criticism at a 4th choice CB, who had barely kicked a ball in months, and who got chucked on out of position in Extra Time. At best, it’s disproportionate.

 

I think he played RB at underage but we had little choice yesterday with the injuries.

 

Agree. Wasn’t fair on the lad really. Should have had Scales on the bench. If he isn’t good enough to be a regular sub LB, why did we buy him? (Well, we all know why, but still…)

 

I don’t rate Welsh at all really, don’t think he’s near the standard needed even for back up but I think the blame lies with Ange bringing him on n sticking him rb. Terrible performance by most the team in fairness

 

Shows there is still a lack of depth in our squad that we ended up with Welsh playing RB and Ralston playing LB.

Welsh tried to defend the space rather than confront the man for their winner, diabolical.

 

Hasn't played since Raith(?) and is chucked on to play at right-back for (I believe) the first time in his Celtic career. That's a big ask for a relatively young player.

 

Played rb on his debut at Hamilton couple of years ago and played there at Morton once they deemed him not good/tall enough to play centre back.

There is absolutely no point in having him as a squad player bcoz he's not good enough to play, same with likes of scales, Mccarthy, Johnston, Bain. Still too much deadwood hanging around the club picking up decent money to offer * all in return

 

Not good enough.

 

That's if we get cl money we need better quality as once we start getting injuries to key players the back up players are not good enough
