No it wasn't. Would have been an incredible header to score from that. Even more so for a winger who isn't exactly known for his heading ability.

He was * yesterday but that wasn't one of the reasons why.

A lot of knee * reactions here, he’s a young winger that’s struggled for form since back from injury, he’ll come good again but at least he never hid and gave it everything.

He is more interested in looking good rather than helping the team. Ironically that makes him far less productive which would put teams off.

Love him but he hasn't done it against the huns and getting a proper greedy * with his shots. Think it's a mix of believing his own hype and knowing there's no competition for his place

Or more likely frustrated by his lack of goals and trying to hard.

I can’t remember him going past either Bassey at Ibrox or Tavernier yesterday. He has been nowhere near the level he was at earlier in the season recently. His shooting is on par with Christie as well.

He definitely shows an unhealthy need for personal glory that Ange needs to knock out of him, this is not a one man show.

It would do him no harm to watch some vids of one of Celtic's greatest ever players Henrik Larsson. He would learn you can be a fantastic free scoring attacker AND a brilliant team player.

Wouldn't say there's no competition for his place bcoz at the moment I'd have him behind Maeda

Pre injury: Constantly going past defenders, dangerous on the ball, great crossing and link up play, good shooting ability.

Post injury: Reluctant to go past defenders, great crossing still, but shooting is rubbish and is noticeably making poorer decisions in the final third and looking more powder puff in general.

He was honestly a revelation before he got injured and one of the most exciting players we've had in a very long time. I still maintain he was our best player in the group stages of the Europa.

However he's not reached anywhere near those levels since he's been back. I put that down to natural loss of form after injury, believing his own hype a little bit and perhaps a case of mentally checking out after he went back to Portugal.

I'd still buy him for the quoted price, but that's purely on what showed in the first half of the season. Got to remember he's still young and learning so will frustrate - there's a reason his career hasn't really taken off yet. I'd definitely persevere but I get the feeling his heart isn't in it anymore.

Went by Tavernier once yesterday first half when he cut inside but think he hit a shot again being greedy when there was a man/men over on the right..

His decision making was an absolute joke yesterday..

He’s not been anywhere near Sinclair’s level or perhaps Elyounoussi’s level too.

It starts to make you think whether the £6m+ is worth it or can we find better?

For me, he definitely has talent and I would probably still sanction the purchase as he has the capacity to improve and become a fantastic player. However, there is a bit of risk involved I suppose.

i'd rather send him home and try and sell Forrest and Johnston and use the 6 million plus what we get for the other two to find 3 new cheaper wingers like we did with Abada.

I'm pretty sure he'd be back up to Everton at Benfica who they spent about 20 million on and is in the Brazil squad.

Maybe they've had a word in his ear that if Everon is moving on he'd have a chance to prove himself. I have respect for him wanting another crack at his boyhood heroes, and equally i'd like to think Ange wouldn't tolerate him half arsing it till he goes back if that's the case

However if someone at Benfica has been watching recent performances then they've probably got their scouts down In Brazil identifying a left winger if they need to replace Everton

I get what you're saying @aliceinsound although, the thing is, Jota hasn't been starting evey single game since the winter break, the way that say CCV has been. Maybe that's because there are more options in the attacking areas than there are at CB but considering both are in similiar situations careerwise, can't help but feel as it's not entirely co-incidental either.

Jota will probably hit double figures in both goals and assists this season and some people on here would still write him off saying we could do better.

Jota's potential is unreal and he's exactly what we need if we go straight to the CL group stages.

My reaction last week towards him was more than likely fuelled by drink, anger and stuff not related to football. That cross for Kyogo today, sublime. More of the same please.

11 goals and assists this season? And yet people don’t think he’s enough
