Matt O'Riley

There's no real reason to be leaving him out the squad anymore. He was fantastic against St Johnstone and, aside from his set pieces, was one of the very few players who looked like they were willing to do something today.

 

I get some people are trying their best to defend players, which is fair, but let's stick to reality. Hatate and Rogic have not just had 1 poor game this year. Hatate has had as many, if not more, below par performances than good ones since joining. Started like a house on fire when he signed, then dipped for weeks. He was good last weekend but then pish again today.

And Rogic is Rogic. He's always been capable of the sublime and the diabolical.

 

They 2 have been the main grain to getting us to 6 points, today the whole team where woeful, Hatate dropped the same as jota but they are still playing well they're no on fire but they're playing. Today was the worst all year and probably surprised many, but this is why we love the sport. Take the good with the bad, I like oreilly and as someone said in here the summer build should be around him and mcgregor we are a few short of being complete.

 

Didn’t say anything about expecting to win everything ffs. Just said that Rogic/Hatate have had a few poor performances, which they quite clearly have and not just today. Games since February have passed them by on a few occasions but O’Riley can’t seem to get any starts anymore.

O’Riley has to start next game is all I’m saying. Rate the other two highly but O’Riley deserves a shot in the first 11.

 

I agree, the only problem I see is Hatate not being dropped he's played more or less 2 full seasons of football he needs a rest but the problem there is Oriley and Rogic playing together is dodgy it didn't work the last time he tried it, I'd honestly play ideguchi and Oriley away to country and keep the 2 mentioned on the bench if it isn't working keep them fresh for playing that mob at home. This title race isn't over yet

I’ll be honest, I think he’s a good player, and I think we forget how young these boys are.

But * me did he look tired after 10.

Like proper shattered. It wasn’t even a high intensity game at that point and he looked absolutely done.

Some nice touches here and there, a good pre season will do him well.

 

Absolutely love this guy. I can’t believe how good he is. To come into Celtic and instantly get into our midfield ahead of a Rogic on top of his game for a number of matches is incredible. His first touch, vision and passing are all absolutely stunning.

In case you couldn’t tell, he starts on Sunday all day for me.

 

Imagine being so good at football to play for Celtic and looking like that Not jealous at all...

 

Was surprised he was taken off yesterday, thought he was our best midfielder by a distance.

He still doesnt want to jump and mess up that beautiful hair but got in a few tackles which Ive said he doesn't do enough of.

Him. And Rogic for their silky touches will do for me, so wouldnt thunk about a similar player.

 

Would like to see him bulk up over the summer, imagine with his talent, if he were to bulk up and be more agressive, would be a * of a player.

 

Aye you could feel that at the time..

He intercepted quite a few of their attacks with his tracking back..

Think he'll be excellent for us next season..

Just wish he had that bit more leg's. A few time's, Including one time Sunday, ball gets played to him just at the edge of the box to run on to and hit and he was a wee bit static..

Maybe if he improves those dance moves he'll be a bit more flexible

 

My old man said he had done nothing and then I pointed out every interception he made thereafter. My dad smirked whenever I did so.

 

Should be one of the first names on the team sheet for me.

Has to be a guaranteed starter next season ahead of Rogic.
