He's only gonna get fit and match sharp by playing games. Get him played ffs.

Hope he hasn't lost any pace. Looked miles off it today. Absolutely miles off the pace.

My main concern from today is how the team played like it was Jackie up top. Flung crosses like we had the big guy up top.

So my concern isn’t about Kyogo getting sharper. It’s how long it will take for the team to realise that it’s Kyogo playing now.

Don’t know really what I was expecting from since he hasn’t played this year. We all know what a player he is so not really worried about today’s poor performance

I thought he was really good and turned the game for the first 20-30 minutes of the 2nd half, was dropping in, beating men, passing it about well but after that was more isolated and never looked like he had the legs to keep running around.

Heard on the radio Abada was injured so was probably on 25 minutes earlier than we'd have liked.

Wasn’t match fit but even when he was flying he doesn’t get involved in games enough.

There was some mental stats earlier in the season about how few touches he had over a run of games.

His movement in behind is another level but constantly standing up on the last man in the centre of the park leaves us no out ball.

I feel like he does drop deep into the 10 position all the time and is really good when we feed him but we never pass it to him.

I mentioned earlier in the season by CCV never seems to play a risky pass, like today Abada was open all day if he wanted to feed him balls when he had Barisic isolated but he never passed it to him one time out of maybe 30 chances.

Same with Kyogo, Kyogo always runs about dropping off into pockets but CCV who can clearly see him and nobody is blocking him never passes the ball into those areas.

Starfelt even though he looks more panicky on the ball actually does more playing from the back, CCV who looks solid on the ball never takes a risk to play a forward ball on the floor when the options are always on.

The biggest concern for me was the amount of times we did get beaten in the air when we launched the ball up to him that none of the midfield were there to pick up the loose balls. Whole team was miles off it today.

Alarming performance given what was at stake

Him and O’Riley made a difference when they came on but our issue later in the game was Maeda and Jota were out on their feet and Forrest is just done so offered nothing when he came on. Therefore he was left isolated, also the few times he found space the passing and crossing to him was pathetic.

As much as we all would want to see Kyogo flying as he was prior to his injury given how long it is since he played regularly its not a surprise really he looked off the pace last weekend. The hour or so he played will hopefully help him get closer to full match sharpness but for me I would still be looking to play him off the bench this weekend with Giako starting assuming he is fit.

It would be my one CCV criticism, he was terrible for that in the home game against Bodo we always had a winger free on one side and he would point blank refuse to play it.

I think if we sign CCV and Starfelt that’s where a DCM that drops into the back line and can spread the ball well from there is a must, McGregor can do that but is more about getting on the ball and looking to carry it and give and go with team mates.

CCVs defensive solidity though makes up for shortcomings here.

We took an alarming amount of time to get used of Giakoumakis being a different style of striker than Kyogo for me, we kept playing passes that Kyogo would want not him. It looked the opposite way around on Sunday now, played balls Giakoumakis would thrive on, but Kyogo wouldn’t want.

We need to adapt right away. I don’t know if that’s because in training both haven’t been available at the same time for us to get used to, Calmac’s the only one that realised instantly with both but that’s just his class.
