I still think he'll stay. He's absolutely loved here and you can tell he loves it here too. Also pretty much guaranteed (hopefully) CL football with us next season.

His boyhood team were playing 3-4 hours down the road and he got the opportunity to go and watch.

This is my feeling too. He seems a bit more on the fringe these last weeks. Good player and I hope he does stay but I am less confident about him than CCV

Needs to stay its not just his flare and ability to go by players but he can play both wings , his crossing is very good from open play and set pieces and he will be an asset in europe as he can hold the ball and get us further up the park

I'm not stressed. We will have both HIM and CCV. I don't get why we have a discussion of "one or the other" - we're gonna get both, we can afford both. All is well.

Ah, if only you knew the Celtic board like we do…

I do actually agree though: I think we’ll get both.
However, the amount of ‘nailed on’ deals/opportunities to sign someone that this board have then frittered away over the years is astonishing, so that’s why it’s a discussion.

I love Jota and would be delighted if he signed a permanent deal with us. But I'm not sure Ange would be that disappointed if he didn't. Am sure he'll have his eye on other wingers that might suit his style more - really quick, direct, athletic players that are great at pressing.

He isn’t as important to the team as CCV and easier to replace if he doesn’t stay. Not fussed either way tbh as i know Ange will have a replacement lined up

Dont mean to be the Ange fan boy, but in all seriousness, Ange will be FULLY aware of whether Jota intends to stay or not.

If he does. Sweet. Cheers bai.

If not, Ange will have another sounded out and ready to go.

He's already proved he doesnt * about in the market, and with optimism high, the board will be much more flexible, with concerning fees, and lawell not there to hardball other clubs into walking away.

That being said, CCV will be FAR harder to replace.

People saying they ain't fussed if he stays or not...madness man.

Hes * top quality and only 22 years old. We need to do everything we can to keep BOTH him and CCV.

21 goal contributions this season and teams instantly fear him, often doubling up on him. Ripped Leverkusen a new one. And Betis away.

Hes European level quality and if we want to have any chance of doing something in Europe we need players like.him on our front line.

It's a defence mechanism to make ourselfs feel better when we see him playing for some other team next year :fear: but aye. * love him. Absoloute qaulity and we need to sign him and I think we will try our hardest. It's up to the player at this point.

At this stage there isn't a Jota or ccv question.

It's £9mill to get both. Both sort out two massive issues that need replacing if either leave. Both are young and able to command much higher fees in a year or two.

Both are no brainers. More so if we have a £40m windfall. I see us spending £20 in the summer.

Which includes Jota if he wants it

Siginicantly more than £9m to get both mate. £6.5m for Jota and at least £6m for CCV. None of them including other costs like potential rising costs. I'm sure it's been well documented that the CCV deal is £6m but could rise to £9m. Which I would base off champions league qualification. For both, you're looking at £15m potentially all in. Either way, they're still worth the fee.

Happy to be wrong, I was under impression it was around £3 for ccv and the £6-6.5 for Jota.

Even at the higerh ends of £15 is still perfect business sense.
Another £5mill on a left back to get us to that £20mil and if we keep every other (usable) player, we are in s great position.

    Any outs get replaced.

I think people are just a lot more relaxed about whether he stays or goes than they were at the start of the season. He was one of the only positives going for us at that point.

Now though, I feel like we're in a much better position and have full trust in Ange to replace him if necessary. Still hope he stays of course but if he doesn't want to then good luck to him.

He's a key player with more than a fair contribution of goals and assists - and he's exciting as * to watch when he's on the ball. That blend of player doesn't come along here too often as you tend to get one or the other. Will be over the moon if he signs permanently or gutted if he chooses to go back to Benfica.

And as good as Ange has been in the transfer market, no manager gets it 100% spot on in signings so no guarantee we would replace him of similar quality. We'd quickly miss him if he decided to go.

Regardless of staying with us or not, he simply has to put in a shift today, not just the show pony stuff.
