Terrible situation all round. Extremely talented player who got mistreated by the former manager and has had an awful run of injuries. No doubt he's regressed, and it just doesn't look like happening here now. I was convinced he was gonna be the next big academy breakthrough.

I really hope he forges a good career elsewhere.

Decent talent with a poor injury history, but still I'd expect Ange to give him another preseason and then decide.

Given the wages involved and that he has been part of first team football and shown some signs there isn't much of a gamble involved.

Get the frustration but reckon the risk/reward ratio is still there. Plus until Jota is or isn't signed there are big questions in that position.

He has to go on loan to Hibs, Motherwell, Dundee Utd or Aberdeen next season, that will determine if he has a future here or not, he has to reach the same performance levels or higher that Ajer had at Kilmarnock and Christie had at Aberdeen

Can that. Patter of an ignorant, insensitive dunderheid. Absolutely hoaching chat, even for someone of your track record.

We support our own, especially when they’ve gone through what he has.

Some of the comments about him are embarrassing.

People seem to revel in it anytime he gets an injury.

MJ, injury history aside, just doesn’t have a footballing brain. Constantly makes the wrong decision and fluffs big chances as a result. I sympathise with him with regards to his injury history, but supposing he was healthy he still wouldn’t make it here. Skill alone isn’t enough. You need the work ethic and you need to be smart. He has neither.

Loan him out and hope he develops. That’s all that can be done.

This is a load of * though. There’s a difference between a player low on confidence and making wrong decisions and someone not being smart or having a footballing brain.

As for the work ethic, 99% of people would’ve already given up after everything he’s went through.

Him not making it here will have absolutely nothing to do with work ethic or smarts.

Really unfortunate for the boy, body is made of glass. He would 100% be first choice for us if he wasn't injury prone, he clearly has the talent.

He's still got a few years left on his contract, I'd be loaning him out next year instead of selling, and seeing where he is at the end of the year.

Very unfortunate for him. He’s a good player.

Will never make it here and would never have made it here, even if he was always fit, but could definitely have a good career elsewhere.

Hope he can stay injury free for the sake of his career.

You realise we’ve got Jota in his position? 100% first choice??

Tbf I haven't seen enough of Moffat to make that call. I think whenever he's come on for the first team he's been OK in his brief time on the pitch. Hasn't done anything amazing but hasn't done anything badly.

Came on in the league Cup final and put someone through and then the Ross County away win he made the right decision in keeping the ball alive instead of putting his laces through it and trying to be the hero.

I've seen enough of Johnston. Poor injury record but the worst thing is his decision making. He's a month or two younger than Jota and makes no impact in the first team whatsoever.

Even if Moffat isn't making it here, neither is Johnston. I just feel there are others at the club that definitely deserve a shot instead of him. That's why I'm disappointed in the Doak and Dembele situations. They'd definitely offer more on the wings than Johnston does moving forward.

I think Johnston has had chances because you need 4 club grown players in your squad plus 4 Country grown. At the moment we have Ralston, McGregor, Welsh and Jamesy who are all above him plus Taylor, Bain, McCarthy and Turnbull who again I'd put ahead of him. He should go out on loan next season and hope to find a club for the future. He has won plenty of trophies here and given more opportunity than most.

I'd rather give time to other guys like Moffat, who may not be good enough, but we need to find good loans for as he is still young enough to develop.

Said at the beginning of the season that I felt he had to breakthrough and be consistently appearing for us, to then kick on with his career at Celtic.

Unfortunate to see he's picked up another injury but I imagine Ange will remove the emotion from the decision and look elsewhere in the summer; particularly if we don't get Jota back.

For me he needs to go out on loan, no one’s going to buy him as he is permanently crocked so is a big risk.

If he goes on loan gets a run of games shows a bit of form someone may come in and buy him.

He doesn’t have a future at Celtic as he won’t be good enough, he has missed too much football.

Who's going to buy him, and I doubt any other team would pay him what we do
