All he will do at most is sack Ange and get another puppet in. The gullible support will say, it's not the new manager's fault - look what he's inherited. Rinse and repeat forever ad nauseum.

This club is *. We will hand rangers 40 odd million and then use that as an excuse for falling further behind. DD and the board have destroyed this club. We are a laughing stock.

When Fergus walked away I doubt very much he intended for the support to be so isolated and helpless with the * running Celtic now.

    https://www.celticfc.com/news/2022/april/08/celtic-tv-exclusive--dermot-desmond-interview/
Celtic welcomes St. Johnstone to Celtic Park in our last League match prior to the split, and as we head towards the climax of what has been a hugely exciting and entertaining season, Celtic TV has spoken to Dermot Desmond, Celtic’s Principal Shareholder.

In the interview, which was recorded last week, prior to Celtic’s weekend victory over Rangers, Dermot discusses his own position at Celtic, he reflects on the disappointment of last season, and he discusses the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as Manager. Dermot also looks at the current structure at Celtic and ahead to the future.

I actually enjoyed listening to him speak in that interview. Shame the * was nowhere to be seen when we were in the * last season other than the odd soundbite of him slagging off the fans who were rightfully protesting at his & others gross negligence. Happy to show his face now though with things looking rosey again.

Would like these type of interviews more often with the boardmembers etc about clubs future and vision.

Would like them to be brave and come out when times are tough like last year aswell.

Dermot Desmond has assured Celtic fans he has no intention of selling his shares.

The majority shareholder at Parkhead sat down with the Hoops' TV service to chat all things about the club.

We told recently how UFC superstar Conor McGregor claimed he had held talks with Desmond about potentially buying from him.

But the Irish businessman has clarified that he has not heard from anyone about that purchase offer.

He also insisted he wouldn't budge on a sale even for FOUR times the amount they are currently worth.

"Nobody has ever approached me about buying shares from me, that's in the last 27 years or so," Desmond said.

I have no intention of selling any shares, not now or in the future, even if somebody offers me a price three or four times the current share price, I'm not selling

I've been privileged and honoured to be able to be shareholder of a club I supported as a youth and I've been a fan well over 50 years.

"Therefore I'll continue to be a fan and shareholder and hopefully contribute to the continued development of the club."

Dermot Desmond has defended Celtic'sloyalty to Neil Lennon as he reflected on the club's 10-in-a-row disaster.

Thousands of angry fans demonstrated outside Parkhead last season demanding a change of manager as their historic title dreams blew up in smoke.

Lennon - who had won five consecutive trophies in his second spell in charge - refused to walk away and the board stuck by their man.

However, the Northern Irishman eventually resigned in February 2021 following a dismal defeat to Ross County which left Celts 18 points adrift of runaway champions-elect Rangers.

A managerial merry go round ensued as Celtic's attempts to appoint a successor turned into a circus, with Eddie Howe turning the job down following months of prolonged talks.

Ange Postecoglou eventually took over the reins and the Hoops haven't looked back since, with the Aussie-Greek overseeing an incredible transformation which sees the club on course for an unimaginable Treble

Majority shareholder Desmond spoke to Celtic TV in a rare interview as he looked back on a rollercoaster 18 months for the Glasgow giants and explained why the club refused to sack Lennon.

He said: "As a club we're continuously learning in every aspect of the club.

"Our facilities, structure and personnel, that's a given every year.

"If we look at last year and analyse it cold, the facts. We wanted to retain all our squad to win 10 in a row and we did.

"We wanted to retain the players we had on loan, Elyounoussi and Forster from Southampton.

"We agreed terms that both could come, both deals were done but unfortunately at the last minute Fraser Forster decided to stay at Southampton.

"In the interim we'd let Craig Gordon go and that was the start of the challenges we faced from the previous year.

"We were in need of a goalkeeper to replace them. We did that.

"We also recruited other players so that in every position we had cover.

We got Shane Duffy at cover for centre-back and we did that throughout the whole squad.

"There was mistakes made, I grant you, maybe in selection, mistakes made that were Covid-related, mistakes made by players going on trips.

"Again it wasn't from the lack of having the squad or dedicated manager or coaches to resolve the issues.

"You may say we should've got rid of the manager earlier on. This is a manager who was an outstanding player for Celtic who won the league in his own right during the first period as manager.

"That won basically two Trebles and also that everybody endorsed the view that Celtic were favourites to win the league.

All the pundits and commentators and, indeed, the betting companies had us odds-on favourites so we were well geared for 10-in-a-row.

    "Unfortunately that didn't happen.

"I believe support should be given, not when you're doing well, support should be given when you meet challenges and difficulties and the Celtic culture is to give support when people need it.

"We wanted to show loyalty to Lenny by supporting him and giving him an opportunity to turn things around.

"Unfortunately that didn't happen and that was history. So you say to yourself, 'What can we do about it?'. The only thing we could do about that then is you always build everything from the top down.

Lenny resigned and our objective then was to recruit a manager but when do you do that? Not during a last quarter of a season.

"Like what we've done over the last 20-odd years, we made a list of managers."

    Highly disturbing "interview".

Chatting about Southampton talks, chatting about gk recruitment, chatting about signing that * donkey from Brighton.

Then a raft of excuses about this and that... As per.

Think its fair to say he had more than a little input in recruitment last year.

Youre the principal share holder. Not the * director of football, ya egg headed *.

Keep your eye on the * share index and leave recruitment to Ange and Nicholsen.

    *.

With Dermot, there's always a reson behind the message and timing of it. So why now???? What's the purpose.

A lot of the ill will I have stemming from last season evolves around them the board and Lennon. Even now silent on last weekends events.

    Embarrassing.

Ange performing miracles and decides to show face and try defend Lawwell and Lennon.

Comments in Forster and Howe show how clueless they are.

If it wasn’t obvious he’s clearly lining up his son for a bigger role at the club.

His comments about not wanting a manager who is here to develop and move on is concerning.

We sign players to move them in in 2/3 years for a profit. Doing the same with managers is fine as long as they do the business when they’re here.

Makes me think after Ange it’ll be back to a “Sellick man”.
