we need Ange to turn his attention to this set up quickly. Hopefully after we secure the league this year. If he can have a good evaluation of things and see what needs improved or changed to help bring thru more of our young players into the first team squad. Ideally I would like to see Ange's Third Celtic first team, made up of promising youngsters from the academy.

I do think if Ange sticks around that may well change. He seems to have a history of playing young guys if he thinks they are good enough.

As you say there are a fair few mentioned at the moment will be interesting to see how we handle them.

For the first time in a while I have a bit faith in the development process with big Ange running things,

I really hope we bring one or two more of the young bhoys into the squad for next season (if there good enough).

If we do go straight into the champions league groups with the gaurenteed income I'd like us only to sign proven quality no more squad fillers like Soro,Taylor etc we have a great coach in Ange who I believe has the patience and can get the best out of these lads and unearth a few gems hopefully.

Celtic are set to ward off interest from the Premier League as they give developing talent Daniel Kelly a three-year professional contract this week.

Arsenal and Liverpool were circling with other top flight names also keen as well as Portuguese giants Benfica, who he was linked with last year

But the 16-year-old playmaker has instead agreed a long-term deal with the Hoops that should be signed before the end of the week.

Kelly has also been shown he has a pathway to progress through the Lennoxtown ranks and kick on

The club are also nearing a similar deal with full-back Mitchel Frame.

The teenager is on the radar of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Manchester City but he's indicated his preference is to remain with Celtic and that has given the club hope of agreeing a contract..

It would serve as a major boost to sign both youngsters to long-term deals as the club continue to try and keep Ben Doak, who is on the verge of signing for Liverpoo

Good chance for Manchester United to join Manchester City in taking all our youth players after they’ve seen them play

We are delighted to announce that Celtic FC Academy has been invited to attend the Generation adidas Cup in Texas, U.S. next month from April 9-17. The tournament will take place at the Toyota Soccer Centre in Frisco, Texas, with Celtic’s U15 and U17 divisions both being represented.

The Generation adidas Cup is an elite youth tournament that hosts 80 professional academies from 10 countries, spanning over four continents. All 28 Major League Soccer teams will be represented at the GA Cup, and Celtic FC Academy will be making the journey stateside along with the world’s other leading clubs such as Manchester United, AS Roma, FC Porto and CA River Plate.

The club is hugely excited about this opportunity for our U15 and U17 sides, with Head of the Celtic Academy Chris McCart highlighting how beneficial it will be for our young players.

Chris said: “As part of the development for our Academy it's always really important that we can offer different opportunities and challenges and the Generation adidas Cup presents an outstanding opportunity to travel to the United States and play against some of the best teams around.”

The schedule for both teams has been released, with games against Austin FB and Atlanta United up first.

Vice President of Player Youth and Development at Major League Soccer Fred Lipka, said:

“In the form of a world-class competition, Generation adidas Cup provides the stage to introduce and showcase the next generation of stars from MLS academies and top clubs around the globe… We are excited to see our MLS academies competing head-to-head with many of the top international programs.”

    Competition format

Forty teams, divided into 10 groups of four, will compete in each of the two age divisions. Each team will play three group matches to determine qualification for the knockout round.

Sixteen teams will qualify for the winners' side of the draw with winning teams advancing to play in a bracket-style elimination format. All teams competing in GA Cup are guaranteed to compete in seven matches and matches will be 60 minutes in length, comprised of two 30-minute halves.

How to follow the Celts in Texas

Selected games throughout Generation adidas Cup will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube. Additional details on the games to be featured will be announced and circulated in advance of the tournament.

Be sure to follow the Academy’s Twitter page, as we will be keeping it up to date with all the action throughout the tournament

He’s the one I’m really excited about, he’s a 15 year old kid with a phenomenal (and ever growing) YouTube highlight reel of finishes.

A natural * given talent for scoring goals it seems.
