A nil all draw against a typically slimey Italian outfit, O'Connor was really solid and composed, never put a foot wrong or misplaced a pass all night. Did not see too much of him going forward, as most Irish attacks were down left side and Lee was RB.
Molumby looked good too, who does he play for?

The first international break of the year is now upon, as several of the Celtic squad head off across the globe to represent their respective countries.

For those playing in Europe, there’s a mix of friendly action and crucial World Cup play-offs as the semi-finals and finals to reach the Qatar event takes place over the next week.

Scotland should have been playing for a place at the World Cup, but with the current situation in Ukraine, that play-off match has been postponed until a later date.

However, Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor are still away with Steve Clarke’s side as they face Poland in a friendly at Hampden on Thursday, and then face Austria or Wales in another friendly away from home the following Tuesday.

The other Celts taking part in friendly matches in Europe include Nir Bitton, who is with Israel to face Germany away from home on Saturday, Josip Juranovic who plays Slovenia and Bulgaria with Croatia, and Giorgos Giakouamkis who is recalled to the Greece squad to play Romania and Montenegro away from home.

Carl Starfelt is also back in the Sweden team for a game of huge importance as they play in a World Cup play-off at home to the Czech Republic on Thursday, and if they advance they will play in the final against Poland.

Elsewhere, there are more crucial World Cup qualifiers Reo Hatate, who faces Australia in Sydney, before taking on Vietnam in Japan.

    UNDER-21S
There’s Under-21 action for Matt O’Riley who has been called up for Denmark for the first time, while Liel Abada and Stephen Welsh are with the Israel and Scotland U21s respectively.

    UNDER-19S
Johnny Kenny has a place in the Ireland Under-19s and will come up against Tobi Oluwayemi who is in the England U19 squad, as the two teams play each other in their first game of a packed triple-header of European Championship qualifiers.

He did play for them at U16 and U18 but his mum is Danish hence the switch to play in a much nicer jersey. Wish with his name he was eligible for Ireland as we have nobody at all who play as an 8 or a 10 at his level. But not to be.

Yes just seeing that now that Maeda is out of the Japan squad. Hopefully nothing serious if it is covid and he is ok for the zombies game.

I keep forgetting we have Kenny (someone else mentioned it as well in his thread, I keep thinking he is jonjoe Kenny), and keep forgetting lawal is Irish as well.

The pair of them seemingly have very bright futures ahead of them and here's hoping we give them both a proper chance next year.

Johnny Kenny went off injured after 35 mins yesterday. Hopefully nothing serious cause he's been really unlucky since joining us.

If it stays 0-0 I don't imagine him coming on, a draw leaves Japan needing a draw against Vietnam to qualify.
