Mikey Johnston

Know it sounds overdone now but I still think he can make it here, I'd be sending him out on loan next season, preferably to a side like Hibs or Aberdeen, and see where he is come the end of the season.

He'll be 23 when this season ends, but Ralston, McGregor and Christie weren't first choice for us until they were slightly older, could be the same for Johnston.

 

Definitely needs a loan to a side in the league where he'll get regular game time (if he's injury free) to get some confidence and consistency into him.

Had such a stop/start career so far and he's not even our first pick when fit anyway.

 

Get him out to Hibs in the Summer, Maloney would be ideal for him, it's a position Maloney played in a lot at LW and he would look after him well with some great advice on how to play that position better, does anyone know if Maloney coached Mikey when he was here as a youth coach? Pretty sure he did, so there may already be a working relationship there.

Needs a full season of consistent football for a decent sized club like Hibs if he's ever gonna have a chance of making it here

 

Good call. Also they play very similiar to us now but the attacks not there yet. For him go have any chance he would actually need to stay injury free to manage a run. Dont think I can see that happening.

Nowhere near good enough for this level, never seen a player take so many wrong options and * so many chances. Dembele levels ahead already.

Can't continue when you've got kid's like Dembele just back from injury and shining..

 

Did really well when he came on fresh air shot and only gave it away 2 or 3 times so at least he's improving

He's needed for a long time to get rid of the tricks and get back to doing the basics.

 

With turnbull, jota, abada and kyogo coming back, MJ won't get near the 1st team.

 

Would much prefer to run with wee Dembele instead of MJ, he has had enough chances this season and produced jack.

 

Too greedy just wants to cut in and shoot all the time. 3 years ago or so had high hopes for him when he had a run of good games and scored a few. Not done anything of note this season and is surely running out of chances to impress. Don’t see him being here after the summer.
