We spent about 4 years preparing him for a role, he was involved with youth coaching etc, like the worlds longest trial. Think we would have a very good idea of what he would bring as a coach.

I think people being a bit premature with the outrage here. IF Broony comes back to the club in a coaching capacity, it’s no gonna be with the first team.

Stephen McManus has been moved up from youth teams to the first, Darren O’Dea will have moved forward a position as a result. There was another youth coach who has not long left to go to America - his name escapes me at the minute but he was here for something like 18 years and hasn’t been replaced.

If Broony comes back in, we have a club legend working alongside Tommy McIntyre (something he’s done previously btw) and giving some valuable lessons to our youth players whilst developing his coaching methods and badges etc etc

Would be a fantastic move for both parties, and allows him to escape some of the flak from what’s been happening At Aberdeen thus far

Absolutely agree, I wouldn’t be opposed to it either. We spent long enough prepping him for that sort of role we’ll know exactly what he brings to the club in a coaching capacity. I just think for him and with a view to coming back to us in the future, going and experiencing new football cultures and styles, will suit us far more in the long run if he’s good enough.

I only want the best people for the job and right now we don’t know if that is Brown. Why don’t Aberdeen want him around? Why is Gerrard having to learn is trade before getting a sniff of anything meaningful at Liverpool?

It’s an emotional subject and i fear it could bite us in the * if we just breenge in.

Maybe i’m over reacting but i’m not over the Lennon saga.

Maloney could take him to Hibs.

I actually thought he was doing well there, fans seemed to like him, bit disappointed he's getting punted.

I think he needs to go out and get further experience coaching before he comes back here.

Linking up with Lennon would surely rule him out of any serious coaching offers in the future.

Lennon is associated with unprofessional habits that are being weeded out in the modern game.

If Lennon's time in Cyprus ends in calamity, Brown will be guilty by association. Would be madness for Brown to go down that route. He'd be better off taking on a lower league team in Scotland.

I think if he goes down the lower league route, trying it in England is better all round. He’s never experienced football out of Scotland, he needs to experience new styles.

That doesn’t mean he’s any good at though.

Which is exactly why Celtic, and Scotland, are horrendous at youth development and producing top level players.

People getting jobs because of who they know or what they’ve done instead of what they’re actually like as a coach. It’s Stone Age stuff.

I’d love nothing more than him to be a top class coach and future Celtic manager but he should go out and prove himself.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he heads out to Cyprus to link up with Lennon.

This. He should either be looking for his own team to manage or going into work with someone at a decent level who he’s similar ideas to.

Even if he wanted to work with Lennon would be serious question marks.

He’s quite pally with Russell Martin who’s got a decent reputation down south so it’d be interesting if he got in with him at Swansea.

That would be an outstanding move.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kevin Thomson gets a better job this summer and he links up woth him either btw.

Do you think Rodgers would have him at Leicester?

Would be an outstanding move for him if something like that materialised.

I’d rather he took his own team in the lower leagues and worked his way up or even something like a decent u18/23 down south to see what he’s like but I don’t really see him getting a look in down there unless it’s with someone he knows.

The amount of up and coming coaches down there in academies in mental.

The level of coaching in Scotland is utterly horrific just now, even at Premiership level. If he’s half decent he should blast through the divisions up here even if it’s not at a club flinging money at it.

Aye. No way Thomson does anything in football when he’s not at a club spending fortunes against part timers.

He’s easily the thickest * I’ve heard covering Scottish football and there’s some amount of competition. A dour, brain dead, doaty *.
