With Glas gone do you think he'll still be at Aberdeen next year ?

If I was him I would be looking for a few years in Oz or the US before hanging them up. Big money, nice climate, nice lifestyle etc. actually think he would thrive in that type of environment. Great chance for him to experience a different environment as part of his coaching journey while passing on that experience to younger players.

No, he was brought in as a player coach and I believe other coaches have already gone. I could only see him staying if Lennon got the job.

Broony will be a good manager when he retires.

St Mirren want to hold talks with Scott Brown - after Aberdeen agreed a deal to make Jim Goodwin their next manager.

The Dons sealed the deal with the Buddies to bring Goodwin north on a two-and-a-half year deal, with an option of a further year, with the Pittodrie club.

Goodwin is looking to take his No. 2 Lee Sharp with him and there could also be a place on his coaching staff for Barry Robson.

Aberdeen are expected to confirm Goodwin’s appointment on Saturday and he will be at Fir Park for the Scottish Premiership clash with Motherwell.

Meanwhile, the Buddies have also asked Aberdeen to speak to their captain Brown over their vacant managerial position.

The Dons will let him speak to their Premiership rivals.

The 36-year-old moved to Pittodrie in the summer to take up a player/coaching role under Stephen Glass.

Glass lost his job at the weekend but Brown has remained.

He still has another year left on his contract after this one and was part of Barry Robson’s interim coaching team for the midweek draw with St Johnstone.

The legendary nine-in-a-row-winning boss could now get the chance to step into frontline management, if all goes well.

Jack Ross has strong support amongst the St Mirren fans over a possible return. He helped them win promotion back to the Premiership before he left for Sunderland.

The Paisley club also have other names as they look to build on the work that Goodwin has done over the last three years.

Don’t think he’s manager material personally. Could be wrong though and hopefully proves me wrong.

Scott Brown has no managerial experience. Very risky move by St Mirren. Would make a bit more sense if he had been an assistant at Aberdeen this season under Glass but even then there would be better options.

I struggle to see him as a manager.. good supporting coach … maybe.

Interesting though if it happens. Will be a real ‘into the fire’ test for him although Goodwin has built a stable solid side.

Im presuming only his coaching role is transferable and he’d simply leave/retire from his player role at Aberdeen if it happens.

St Mirren must know SB will have no part in Goodwins new club management structure.

Broony is a winner and with good mentoring I believe he has a future as a manager.

Contract to be terminated at aberdeen as he pursues steps into management , surely we must be in contact about a coaching job with us even if its no immediately in the first team !

If he's wanting to get into management he should be looking for a job at a Championship/League side and working his way up.

Playing for Celtic shouldn't mean we owe the player a job for life. That's how we end up with fannies like Lennon as our manager.

I would gladly take him in some coaching role. His mentality is exactly what we need imo. Love him

Think we have to just take the risk with Brown and let him go coach outside of Celtic.

Do feel like with this attitude and even just way of speaking with confidence...(weird thing to pick up I know, but very rarely will you hear him go "umm", "errrr" etc...) he's got the makings of a fine coach where players will listen and take in his words and instructions.

If that means he does fantastic in the role of coach/manager away from celtic and becomes someone we are no longer affordable to us as a future manager then so be it.

But I do personally want to see him as a manager someday as I believe he's got it in him to make that step

not saying that only because he had a successful career at us he should be given a job ,

I have Based this on listening to old teammates talking about him and his input he has had on them and he is obviously a good role model and players look up to him so if he can transfer his input from a captains perspective into a coaching one then it surely it can only be a positive!

Tbh with the career and what he gave to celtic he at least deserves a chance to earn his coaching credentials here !

Think he would have a similar impact in the coaching capacity to what damien duff had with us in his spell here and be a good link between management and players.

I think he would be an ideal go between Ange and the players, has that fire and respect that no one would cross him, plus he is an inspiration
