I wonder if it's worth playing Hatate at LB once Turnbull is back?

A midfield or McGregor, O'Riley and Turnbull with Hatate at LB could maybe work. We need to do something about it either way as it's by far our weakest position.

 

It’s a disgrace that we’ve not sorted this position out since Tierney left.Should be the first signing of the summer a reliable LB.

 

I hold my hands up I was wrong ... he is very * trying

Definitely someone we need to improve on in the summer. I like his attitude and how he’s usually good at recycling possession, but he’s an obvious weak link. That performance against the scum was great, but his average level leaves a lot to be desired.

 

Between Taylor and Bolingoli we've spent nearly 7m.

I don't know if we need to go that high to get a decent LB, but it's a position that needs serious quality.

 

No point having him as backup as with the amount of injuries and rotation we need, we will still end up playing him for 50% of the season of which he isn’t good enough.

7M Thats mental, sorted out the RB for a lot less.

 

Wish he played like it as well

 

He gets a hard time, he's pretty consistent, it's just that consistency is average..

 

Sorted that position twice recently for much less.

Frimpong and Elhamed for buttons then Juranovic this season.

 

There's a decent player there, but it's his decision making that lets him down time and time again. Defensively he's not bad, I've rarely seen him make a glaring mistake, but never seen him do anything of note either. Going forward he moves well and gets into decent positions, but cannot see a pass and I can't remember the last time I saw him cross a ball.

When you see some of the passes he misses, you can't help but feel if he would just pull two or three of them off a game, or even try, fans would view him more favorably.

 

Funny how people see things differently. I think his passing is the strongest part of his game. Plays some decent forward passes and rarely gives the ball away.

 

He is an absolute trier but for me just lacks the overall physical qualities, he has no pace and is small with no presence. This limits him in terms of his ability on the ball he has very limited vision for a forward pass which isn’t great when asking him to come inside.

He does make decent runs but hasn’t got the pace or ability on the ball to take advantage of good situations without ultimately turning back and playing the easy ball allowing the opposition to get set.

 

He is not the same type of player as Ralston but I see him in the same way. A good solid player who can and will play a fair amount of games for us over a season due to the heavy schedule of games we always have. Yet is not our starter back there. Of course we have not signed yet a left back of similar quality to Juranovic at right back and that is an issue for us. Imagine he will start tomorrow given how well used to these crap plastic pitches he us from his Kilmarnock days.

 

Thought he had a quietly brilliant game.
