Daizen Maeda

Big, chance for him tonight..

 

Would like to see him actually receiving the ball well and making basic passes, not overly fussed about his scoring rate at this stage. Just do the basics well and try to build up some confidence which has been severely lacking so far.

Regardless of how much I may or may not go off my nut with him for the rest of the season, the man deserves a fair amount of settling in time.

Needs to make a big impact here..

Although he's been disappointing....I want to see people making runs for him so he has the space to do damage and little cut back's around the box instead of everything being whipped in..

 

There's no obligation for Maeda to sign though. The whole reason it's a loan is so he can patch it if he's no liking it here.

 

So far I'd pass if it is an option, might be a decent squad player but we should be aiming for a bit more

His heading has been woeful here as well. Been crying out for a flick on on about 3 occasions and he's put it out the park for 3 of them..

 

I'm starting to think this.

I knew he wasn't going to be the quality of Kyogo but I didn't expect him to be so uninspiring as a central striker.

Has a few goals tbf but not sure

 

Said the same about his heading. Head like a sheriffs badge.

 

I had no idea about any the players but seeing the other 3 guys for us I was expecting big things but 3 out of 4 isn't bad

Don't think our formation suits him. I'd use him as a second striker, he can't play up front on his own especially against a team that doesn't come out their own box

 

Going to be honest, I think he's a major reason why we've been so bad recently.

Obviously it's not only him, but he's essentially a man down everytime he plays, terrible first touch, can't really dribble, atrocious heading, the works. I don't even he's that quick tbh (Juranovic looks a lot quicker)

I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he's still settling, and if everybody was fit he'd be wouldn't be starting so many games.

 

I thought he was fine tonight. Didn't get great service. Tried his best. Great pressing

Was a bit better second half. Unlucky with that overhead kick and when the space opened up..

His first touch is woeful though..

 

Actually think he looked better on the wing. Doesn't seem to have the same level of movement that Kyogo has that gets him away from defenders. Always seems to be marked tight when he gets half a chance.

His work rate is phenomenal though which helps at times.

 

Works hard and is a nuisance but is limited in other areas. Like others have said, I don't think our formation suits him and he would probably be more effective in a 2 but * changing the whole formation in the hope we will get more of a tune out of him.
