This made me LOL because it's so true. I don't think I heard anyone saying different here in this county. But , sure it'll be sane again next year if we get to the final. It's just the way it is and won't change untill we get our hands on Sam.

Any thoughts on proposal B turned down?Have to say i only understand some of it but it seemed to me it meant more games in the summer, good for the weaker teams who get knocked out after one or two games.

If that was the case i would have thought it was good for everyone, seems most players wanted it but for some reason the boards were against it.

From what I gather it lost out because the provincial councils were against it and not surprising as they would essentially have been relegated to a pre-season tournament in the B proposal.

There is no question the current model and by that I mean pre pandemic is not fit for purpose and just does not give weaker counties enough competitive games.
No question most players wanted Proposal B and you might see a significant number of players quit or just say they are not willing to play inter county next season as a direct result. Personally there is no question proposal B had real flaws but I would have supported it for say a 2-3 year trial basis and then as it played out you could tweak things to iron out those flaws.

If Dublin get back to winning ways this debate will resurface, defo a need for change,i go the dub games but its getting a bit of a joke when their hammering the weaker teams and your paying top dollar to watch it.

Absolute rubbish the whole Dublin thing. Firstly if someone wants to complain about Dublin having home advantage playing at Croke Parke then build a new stadium in Dublin with a 40-50,000 capacity because Parnell Park is obviously not fit for purpose and if Dublin were made to play home games there the GAA would lose significant revenue. Not going to happen obviously never mind nobody was complaining when Dublin were not winning All Irelands. From our 1983 win until we won in 2011 we won 1 All Ireland title and nobody was whinging about us playing in Croke Park.
As for winning ways why jump on Dublin. Kerry have won more All Irelands then us at 37-30 and have played in no less then 17 more All Ireland finals then us. But nobody is talking about Kerry winning been a problem. Nobody said anything about Kilkenny's Hurling dominance been a problem. From 2000-2015 they won no less then 11 All Ireland hurling titles. Nothing said about that.

Bottom line is the current football format in the GAA is not working and it needs to get changed asap. I would hope that despite this weekends vote that the response is ok lets go back and come back with a better proposal for change that can be voted on at the next congress and brought in for the 2023 season given its too late for next year now.

GAAGO are doing a two week free trial in the UK. Then it's £40 for a years pass, which is pretty cheapo. I've just signed up for el freebie trial and will watch Dubs vs Armagh Saturday evening.

Could the dubs get relegated? Unthinkable.

It's certainly looking like it. I know a large chunk of the all conquering team is gone but Dublin haven't even been really that competitive in 3 of the 4 losses. I would not be surprised at this rate to see Dublin relegated and lose in Leinster. Farrell will be gone at the end of the season and well he should be if that comes to pass which looks very possible.

Was present at the antrim v waterford game yesterday, actually watched waterford train at our club facilities the day before.
Was a good game, Antrim unlucky but looking every bit a division 1 side, game was completely soured though by waterfords number 4 calling the antrim players british *, thought it was embarrassing and wrong, hope the deise get * tanked going forward!

    * Waterford, the eternal scrappy doo of the Hurling landscape. They think they have a rivalry with the likes of Cork and Tipp but in reality they could care less about them. Jumped up losers.

With regards to that pathetic partitionist form of sledging, it’s nothing new. Even outside of GAA I’ve experienced the tiresome “Nordy bashing” from some of our ‘comrades’ in the Republic. Getting the accent mocked, jokes about the troubles etc etc. It’s all very regrettable. Ofc it’s only a small fraction of the population who get on like that, but even still.

Just left a sour taste tbh, like i said they were welcomed to our club to train, kids all up watching the training etc
They were given a very warm welcome in belfast but then resort to this, ah well, i actually think dublin will turn them over, its early days though.
