Think he’s won everyone over now.

Even without the goals it was clear to me he was contributing in other ways and offering us something different.

Knew as long as he kept getting in the positions he was and hitting the target like he was that goals would come.

Maeda getting called up has turned out to be a blessing in disguise for us. Gave him the chance to shine at Tynecastle and against the Huns.

 

Thing is, most of his 'falling about' was from a period between 2 injuries, so it's entirely possible that the niggles he was getting we're affecting him far more than people realise.

And to the same point, I don't remember him going down when there was NO foul against him, just a few that seemed softer than what we're used to. Nothing says you need to let them cripple you before you go down...

 

Think given a good pre season and a full season he would easily break 30goals in a season

Before the Dundee game it was 1 in 160

I believe it's now 1 in 126 minutes

That Hattrick had been a long time coming for Giakoumakis.

We've had strong bully types before who do what he does and never once looked like someone who could be relied on to score (Fortune)

But the way he's been playing he's left games without a goal to his name only because somehow the keeper has managed to save face for the opposing team from getting utterly drubbed.

If he continues this form...honestly could see him grabbing another hattrick within the next 5 games because he's constantly getting into the positions to get fantastic scoring chances and whilst he's confidence is high I can see him going through a purple patch now.

 

Big man was magic yesterday.

Physical, puts himself about, works for the team and one-touch finisher inside the box.

We’ve really missed that in recent seasons. Hopefully he can go on a real run until Kyogo is fit and firing.

 

It makes a good headline when you lose something but I also think confidence can be intimidating so unsure!

 

Actually read earlier he now balances out his XG for the season. Don't think he'll ever be prolific but will get enough for a second option. So much of his work is hard to quantify with pulling defenders out of position and physically tiring them.

 

If you have a second choice striker who can nab double figures then your doing pretty well and I'm confident he can get double figures this season. It's good to know even with our main striker out we are still strong up front.

 

Think he took a touch for the first goal yesterday, did he not?
