Squad has a great will to win, which is a fantastic trait to have, set pieces desperately need addressed we can't defend them and we're barely a threat from them at all, with the amount of set pieces we get in domestic games we really should be a threat.

 

Thats pretty much the game in a nutshell. I will add it wasnt just the defending the set pieces that irked me, Starfelt gave away a needless free kick for the set piece that led to the second. He does that all too often, doesnt use common sense at times.

 

3 points is the main thing but that was dreadful today.

Play is so sloppy, struggled to break down the worst team in the league and continue to look vulnerable to any type of cross ball into the box.

Manger had been here 8 months now the fact he hadn't been able address our weakness at defending set pieces is a major worry. Every team knows they have a chance of scoring against us if the get the ball into our box.

If the manager isnt capable of setting us up to defend set pieces or score from them for that matter then he need to hire a specialist coach who can bcoz it's clear they other 3 * are there to pick up cones and hand out bibs and nothing else

 

Do we still have the best defensive recording the league?

 

What about those 2 penalty claims around the 40th minute, looked 2 stonewallers to me.#

First one Juranovic won the header and the guy just clattered onto his back flattening him, stopping him getting on the ball which came back to him.

The one on Giakoumakis about 30 seconds or a minute later or whatever looked a clear as day elbow, think everyone in the stadium was waiting on a red and penalty.

 

Have we conceded more goals from set pieces than any other team in the league?

 

Need to start performing better again. Haven’t really played well since half time in the hun game. It’s fine getting the wins but poor performances will eventually catch up with us

That doesn't mean we've been good defensively really. What you're really saying is, do we have a better defensive record than the huns (being the only genuine comparison we should make). Yes we do, but they've not been good either.

Just look at our defence in Europe for a proper evaluation. Need to set the bar higher if we want to be a serious team.

 

Don't think we were "poor" in the slightest. Great performance by Dundee, fighting for their lives, bad conditions, and responded to conceding with * iron will preserverance.

Agree that the goals conceded need addressed asap.

But again, overreaction in here is off the charts.

 

It’s pretty scandalous tbh. Both defensively and offensively. I’ve said it plenty on here, I don’t understand why we don’t hire a “play coach” to capitalise on the corners we get.
As for our defensive frailties! It’s been our Achilles heel for a few seasons now. It being addressed should be a priority as we can have dominated the ball but if we concede from 1 corner and 1 set piece, all our hard work is easily undone. And all the philosophy of playing great football will be for nothing.

The second was a definite penalty..

 

I actually thought we performed quite well the day, some of the deliveries were superb and a few times we were close to getting on some, we scored 3, could have had a penalty or 2, a few ones we put in and nobody got near.

We were patient and on the attack most of the game.

The bad part was the set pieces again, first corner they score, then I think their 2nd goal was their 2nd set piece as well. They probably only had 6 corners/freekicks to cross in and got 2 goals.

* woeful how much we concede from them, you * yourself everytime a team get one. We were lucky Bodo never really had any against us as man for man their players probably had 2-2 inches on our whole team, they'd have been like penalties to them.

 

Best defence due to amount of possession we have in games.

If there was a stat showed number of goals conceded in relation to amount of possession teams have we'd likely be pretty low in table

All it takes is a staff appointment. We got a fitness coach and a data analyst. Surely Nicholson can do this one, too?
