Might have the best defence in the league but its not because our defence is good.:56:

Not our best but games like this last season we would 99% of the time drop points, such a difference in the attitude!

Each player should be marking players individually and anyone peels off go with him not this zonel marking pish .
Agree still think Kennedy has a input on the defending even though people say he doesn't .

How often have we played against team that park the bus? Todays results are great but we cannot take too much satisfaction out of the performance against the bottom club in the league, that is what disappoints.
Chuffed to * we won and put some daylight between us and the scum but there is not too much to be proud about the performance.

3 points is all that matters. Still creating plenty but really need to sort our defending from set pieces.

    3 clear. :party048:

Big Jack is going to be important for the run in. Teams are going to get desperate for points whether it is fighting relegation or to get into the top 6. His physical presence up front gives us something different about our play,

    Thank * for that.

That was important for so many reasons. First and foremost, we had to capitalize on Sevco dropping points.

Secondly, that was the first time we have come from having conceded first to win this season in the league, and only the second time all season, after the League Cup Final. That is important, just to know we can do that.

Third, it would've been potentially a hammerblow to have done so much hard work and then to lose 2 games on the bounce. Now with the late winner should get a lift and to extend that gap at the top of the table.

Fourth, GiGi hatrick was great for him as a striker he does so much work off the ball and can bully defenders etc, but strikers are paid to put the ball in the net, and he delivered big time! But also the manner of the goals scored. That will do him the world of confidence. Kudos.

On the other hand, we MUST do something about the set pieces. The first goal was completely a mess as noone made any sort of move and just let it drop in front of the goal. Horrendous. The second was just as painful as it was a needless freekick to give away and more poor defending. Teams know we suck at these, and if the bottom club in the division can very nearly pinch something off the back of a couple of set pieces it really does undermine all the work that we are doing the rest of the game.

Carl Starfelt seriously needs to improve. I get that Postecoglou is hesitant to break up the CCV-Starfelt combo that has been at the heart of the defence for much of the season, but Starfelt is a liability and with Jullien now back and able to play, not to mention being by far the best player we have at set pieces - both defending and attacking them - you could make a case that he deserves a place in the starting XI for that alone.

That game should never, ever have been as close as it was, but I did like that when they pulled level that we didn't panic - did pick up the tempo, kept pressing and pushing for a winner, and big marks for Juranovic and Raltson both for their parts in the winner - and then came in the game management to see the game out, but even then it was a nervy finish. Heard on the radio before it got cut that in the final seconds Starfelt was lucky to get away with something again? Idk, didn't catch it and the radio cut to the news and other programming so not sure what they were talking about, so maybe I misheard, not sure. :/

Bottom line is, we got over the line, we got the three points, we managed to capitalize on Sevco dropping points, and there are some positives to take from the game, but also very clearly there is work that MUST be addressed regarding set pieces and while all the MF and forwards have been rotated in and out, think it's time that Starfelt had a couple of games on the bench to see what CCV & Jullien can do as a partnership.

Many set piece goals we conceded now?

Probably about 90% of the goals we concede domestically are from them it feels like.
