Jota.

Was poor the other night but we never got the ball to him often enough.

Something we did very well against Rangers was moving Taylor/Juranovic infield and leaving passing lanes to Jota/Abada all the time, then having Hatate/O'Riley running off them. Bodo/Glimt kept their front 3 quite narrow and left the pass to the wingers sort of 'half' on which meant riskier passes. It made it harder for Starfelt (a right-footer) to find Jota as often. Pretty sure CCV was able to find Abada more in that first half.

Poor night for him, but clearly a brilliant player and I'd be over-the-moon if we can get him permanently.

 

Much like Ange, I'm sure we can forgive him the odd below par performance...

 

Hopefully he is back to his best and gets on the scoresheet tomorrow.

 

I felt we gave Jota plenty of the ball last Thursday he just had an off night where nothing came off. When it finally did he was offside when he was brought down which would have been a penalty if he had been onside.

On the passing out from the back CCV was dreadful in the game he had it so often and point blank refused to play the diagonal out to either winger who was free. The only time we actually sort of played that pass was when Starfelt got pressed and he almost slide tackled it out there on the stretch and it set up a good attack.

A centre back who is quick and can distribute the ball well would massively improve our team. Ideally they would be tall too but there aren’t many of those players going about and those that are cost a fortune, particularly if you are looking for a left footer or someone comfortable of either.

A lot is made of Ajer’s ability on the ball but that was more ball carrying that probably came from him being a CM in his younger professional career.

 

Could have mistaken him for Mickey Johnston today.

 

Thought he was our only real danger tbh

But shooting was woeful.

 

Been stinking since the injury.

Playing like the player many of us feared we’d be getting - a show pony.

 

Dreadful.

 

Was like a poor man's Scott Sinclair today

 

Our best player today and he wasn't great. Whole team needs a rocket up there *.

 

I'm really trying not to make assumptions, but it seems like when he signed he had a point to prove. And before his injury he "proved" that point.

He looks a shadow of the guy who was ripping it up previously. Its not just today either, he hasn't hit those levels once since he returned.

Well can see why his team put an option to buy in

 

He wasn't great today, but nobody was. Can't pin all the blame on to him when he's been great most of the season.

Some fans need to have a look at themselves and stop rounding on the players with nonsense.

 

Him and Juranovic looked our best avenues for a goal, until he started going for it his self..

 

So poor. Whole team has had an incredible drop off in standards.

 

At least he tries to make things happen..

Should have had an assist in the first half, great ball for Abada, who should have scored.

 

I feel like he’s suffering from the expectation on him to be our main creative outlet. He’s done brilliantly this season but it’s unrealistic to expect him to carry the team every single match.
