You'd think wee Dembele * both his mum and sister the way he's carrying on :56:

It's easily one of the weirdest rants I've seen on this already mental forum so far :57:

Nobody here actually knows what's going on. Its his decision and if he wants to leave all the best to him I just wouldn't be playing him in any games until end of season as I don't see the benefit of that to the club. Maybe Ange can retrieve the matter (if he wants him). Until this season I don't really get what the development squads were doing bar playing a friendly every couple weeks. It was complete ragball rovers.

There could be several benefits to playing him. If he is performing well in training potentially he could be the difference between winning games and not if Abada has a lull and Forrest still hasn't found his form. I'd say he is also more likely to sign a new contract if he is getting game time. Otherwise I think we would also be able to get more from him in cross border development compensation if it is shown he is a first team player and has been offered a new contract. I'm not 100% sure on the last one, but I think that is how they work, although it was years ago I read up on those so maybe there have been changes.

I think part of the reason some are showing impatience regarding his first team breakthrough, is because he's been hyped up since he was 13, therefore his emergence has been in the support's thoughts for a few years now. He turns 19 in 10 days and is still very young in footballing terms. Plenty time to see him make an impact once he's fully fit and ready.

I'm also slightly concerned that people will be quick to get on his back once/if he starts playing for us, if he doesn't start producing magic every game, due to the hype that's followed him. I remember Rodgers saying that Dembele already had the talent level of a first team player, but there were other areas where he wasn't ready. I know Postecoglou has been forced to play youth players due to lack of squad depth this season, but I believe he'll want to give a talented player such as Karamoko a chance. Looking forward to it when it comes.

Forrest is 30, and has been kicked up and down for years. Having Abada and Dembele as youth progressions into that role would be good forward planning. Or Doak, maybe... Anyway, pretty sure Ange is watching that spot closely enough, and whoever wants it most will get it...

I do believe that if Dembele does not sign he won't get starts unless really needed. To be honest I understand that, but if we don't play him he won't want to sign an extension. He would get a club regardless but I think if he signed for 2 years, in 1 year he could get a really good move but as a player recovering from injury I think he gets lower championship club.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says Karamoko Dembele may get some minutes with the Celtic B side before being thrust into first-team action.

Dembele suffered a horror injury in pre-season against Bristol City after a less than friendly tackle on his ankle.

He’s been out of action ever since but is now closing in on a long-awaited return.

Speaking to The Herald, Postecoglou said: “He’s been training well. He’s been out for quite a long time. We might get him some game time in the B team to start with. We’ll see how he’s tracking.

“He’s training at the moment and getting close to being available.”

Despite being a much-hyped talent at Celtic for years, the young winger has yet to make his first start in Celtic colours.

He’s made eight appearances from the bench in total but has yet to get that big opportunity that really announces him as a Bhoys player

Given his inclusion in pre-season, it really did look like that was going to finally come under Postecoglou, but this season has passed him by a little due to that unfortunate injury. It’s no one’s fault.

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has provided an update on the fitness of Karamoko Dembele, saying he will look to get the attacker some game time for the Celtic B team instead of rushing him back into first-team action.

Dembele has been out since picking up an ankle injury caused by a horror tackle in a pre-season friendly against Bristol City, but has recently returned to full training.

While happy with his progress, Postecoglou won’t be taking any chances with the 18-year-old.

“He’s been training well,” Postecoglou said.

“He’s been out for quite a long time. We might get him some game time in the B team to start with. We’ll see how he’s training .

“He’s training at the moment and getting close to being available.”

That's for @Dannybhoy81 benefit. He's a bit hard of hearing it seems when being told that the kid is injured.

That sounds to me that Ange isn’t really sold on him yet.

Sounds to me like he doesn’t want to rush him back into the first team and wants to get him up to speed with a few B team games first.

Hasn’t done that with anyone else. Sometimes you need to look past what someone is really saying.

He’s a youngster who’s barely had the taste of first team football ever and has just come back from long-term injury.

Pretty clear the obvious thing to do is to give him a few friendlies/bounce games before bringing him in to important first team games.

If he was an experienced player like a McCarthy then I’d maybe see your point.
