Just coz Hetate and O’Riley look class doesn’t make Turnbull pish. He’s decent and isn’t a huge downgrade when brought into the team. That was the problem earlier in the season if a decent player was injured there wasn’t anyone adequate to bring in.

We had people saying that Rogic will struggle and isn’t needed now when he was on International duty. The Motherwell game shut that right up, Turnbull will do the same.

    We need reliable options.

If we sold turnbull and then suddenly Hatate is injured you've got * worrying again about depth.

Everyone will play a part in this side.

I think the only way we sell Turnbull is if he won’t sign an extension in the summer and we get a good offer for him.

We’ve been stung by Christie and Armstrong in the past in this sort of scenario and Turnbull is with the same agent as those two.

With the money you would get for Turnbull Ange could bring in someone he wanted for a fraction of that and strengthen elsewhere.

He will still have 2 years left on his contract this summer so no immediate need to have him sign an extension or sell him this summer. But at some point next season then we get into the territory of do you want to be part of what is being built here going forward and if yes sign a contract extension otherwise yes at that point you look to sell him maybe in next January's window. But hopefully he will see his future at Celtic and want to stay long term.

I would say two years is the perfect time to make that decision, January isn’t the best market to try sell a player in.

You saw it with us we got considerably less for Edouard than we should have by holding on to him for a season too long. Christie as well.

He’s close to returning, he’s ahead of Kyogo in getting back to fitness apparently, next couple of weeks and Kyogo a week or so after.

Also lately a lot peoples written him off. He has 9 goals this season and around the same assists and he was noticeably knackered at points and changing his game to adapt to Ange.

He’s also still a young player, nowhere near his peak. At the very least I hope people looked at the game last night and realise, we could have done with him as an option coming on. As good as Hatate’s been so far, Turnbull would have been better coming and wouldn’t have * it as much as he did. He has that bit of experience already that he knows what to do. Doesn’t always do it but he can and has.

Think it was either Betis or Leverkusen games that he bullied people after making a mistake to make sure he made up for it and made a goal.

I love our fans man, last two months * have said he’s surplus and no needed.

First game our midfields * in like 10/15 games he’s essential and missed

i agree btw, but it’s hilarious how that works with us :56:

I’ve always been on the Turnbull train :50: I agree, fans are too quick to want to get rid :giggle1: I think Turnbull and Hatate will be a really good rotation.

Terrific player. Great technical ability, great scoring record and a real creative force for us. Poor decision-making at times, but he's only 22 so that will improve with more games. The only thing he really does struggle with is his lack of athleticism. You can see both he and Rogic have improved in that respect and are obviously following the managers instructions, but it's not something that comes naturally to them.

It doesn't matter too much as we expect to dominate possession in most of our games, so we're not having to chase for long periods, and now we have more options in midfield than we did in the first half of the season you can rotate and keep the quality at a pretty good level, which bodes well.

For sure. Great option to have. Also, Tam and Matt O'R for that right side of midfield and CMcG and Bitton for the DM role.

It was only 2 weeks ago I was saying he would struggle to get back into our side, but I've done a complete 180 over the last week.

I still think our first choice midfield is O'riley, Hatate and McGregor but Turnbull offers something different.
