Karamoko Dembele!!

Isn’t he just starting back from beginning of season injury?

 

Don't see why folk have Doak ahead of him.

Doak is 16 and very young (although big for his age).
If anything, Doak is proving to guys like Demebele that there is a chance here for him.

Demebele going on 19 now will be ahead of Doak in the pecking order, had he not suffered injuries this year. No doubt about it.

We can afford to have both at the club, since Doak is unlikely to be a starter for at least another 3 years.

Doak has done nothing at all to be talked about being in front of Dembele in the pecking order here.

The timing of his injury was very unfortunate. Its make or break but everytime he has been given game time he has looked bright. Clearly has a lot of talent.

 

In the squad for tonight.Good too see him back amongst it.

 

Aye would be good to see him get some minutes but I won’t be expecting fireworks.

Neil Lennon ruined us. People think you’ve got to wait to get a player back in the team. He wouldn’t be in the squad if he wasn’t ready got 15 mins at least.

 

Controversial opinion (possibly). If he isn't interested in signing a new contract I wouldn't have him involved with the squad.

I was listening back to his interview after the preseason game he scored in and have to say took a lot of encouragement from that if he gets a chance he has the right attitude to take it and would sign a new deal.

He talks a lot about enjoying his football again and being eager to play. He talks up linking up with team mates and most importantly the clear instructions from the manager. Where I know Ange is pretty blunt about not convincing people to stay, I feel if Dembele is given the chance to play and be in the squad that’s all the convincing he will need.

It would be a shame if he didn’t get a chance as right wing is one of the positions most of us felt we could have been going with another player in, so due to form there still feels like there’s an opportunity to come in and stake a claim to be a key part of the squad.

He has the attributes to be a good asset, he’s skillful, good of either foot, provides a goal threat and has good vision, the question is can he bring that to senior football.

 

Based on what mate? Ange is not giving him bench time never mind game time. Doak is in the squad and been on the pitch in games that matter not a preseason freindly when most of the squad was away on int duty.
Doak has done more to merit game time than Dembele has, why? because Ange gave Doak game time not the wee superstar Dembele. The young man needs to screw the nut, Tierney was miles ahead of him at 19
Edit: Tierney should be the benchmark, very few if any will reach that level but that is where we should aim. Our standards need to be higher

Edit: Mikey Johnston had achieved more than Dembele has by the age of 19.
FWIW I think the boy does have potential but it's overboard in here

 

Unless he signs an extension I'd personally never play him again.
