Not at all, Bitton is just a better player than CalMac in that position, CalMac is not a CDM, he's a box to box CM

 

Bitton does a job in there but there's no comparison. There's a reason Ange starts McGregor in there, with a broken face, instead of Bitton.

 

Don't get all the critism Taylor and Starfelt get...........They might not be the greatest but you get 100% from them

Also the slagging we get for having a "week defence"..........defence does what it has to do backed up by a cracking goalie

 

Because he made him captain before the season started and put himself into a position where it's awkward to drop him, same thing happened with Brown, playing ahead of better players in his own position because he was captain rather than on his ability/form over others in the same position, I like CalMac but he's an 8 imo not a 6

Look at the stats today, Bitton had a higher passing accuracy and won 6 duels compared to the 1 duel CalMac won, he's also better than CalMac in the air too

Bitton/Ideguchi/Soro/McCarthy should compete for 6

Hatate/CalMac/Turnbull should compete for 8

Rogic/O'Riley should compete for 10

 

Bitton played very well today in the 6. He's a very useful option especially when the game is a bit stretched and he can break forward and pick a pass. But CalMac sets the whole pace of the side, without him at the start of games we can look lost. He is probably the most important player in this team.

The only controversial opinion I think I have is that I don't really rate Turnbull. Think the likes of O'Riley and Hatate, despite their limited gametime, look like they fit this system so much better, and despite having better stats I'd still take Rogic over him everyday.

Yes it does, obviously you don't look into the data which is available on many sites such as sofascore as an example, consistently Bitton has a much higher successful rate of passing and tackling over CalMac in the 6 role, Bitton also brings the added bonus of extra height

CalMac should be competing with Hatate for the 8 position

 

Bitton has been really good in a number of game's this season but you only need a pair of eye's to see who's street's ahead in that role..

Utterly, utterly clueless.

Bitton doesn't offer anything like McGregor does in that position. Doesn't show for the ball the same way. Can't play on the turn the way McGregor can. Isn't as mobile. All he has over him is his size and he's slightly better defensively.
