Humility is a trait common in our best players, so what you're saying is a good sign. Larsson had it in absolute bundles. He had all the talent in the world but never stepped onto the pitch if he was going to give less than 100% of his effort. I agree it seems like the Japanese players have the same sort of attitude.

Absolutely agree with the work rate and culture approach from them.

They want to work hard and train hard, that shows massively.

As opposed to the French aspect, which seems so much more laid back with moments of brilliance, the Japanese lads will work their socks off in between brilliance

He’s clearly not at his top fitness and still getting used to the team. Which is scary

Even when he misplaces a pass, very rarely am I annoyed because you can see the intent & it's likely the right idea. Instead of moaning that the pass was a few yards off, more often than not I'm left impressed by his vision, thinking, and inventiveness. Very exciting prospect.

The choice of Japanese players made Angeball feasible. When one wants work rate, pace and commitment to help the team, then Japanese and Korean people are the answer.

    I've noticed this too.

Yeah sure it's frustrating to lose possession at any point but he's spotting movement. Gaps. Openings and generally forward thinking attacking passes everytime. Shake a bit more rust off and he will be pinging those about without fail soon enough

With two goals and an assist in the 3-0 derby win over Rangers, it was no surprise when Reo Hatate was announced as Man of the Match.

It was another superb performance from the 24-year-old midfielder, who only joined Celtic from Kawasaki Frontale last month, and given that his manager said he is still not fully fit yet, supporters can only anticipate what lies ahead in the Hoops for the Japanese midfielder.

On a night when every player in green and white was outstanding, Hatate sparked incredible scenes of celebration in the stadium with his two goals – in the fifth and 42th minute – along with his cross into the box for Liel Abada to score Celtic’s third just before the break.

Not surprisingly, Reo Hatate was still savouring the occasion when he spoke after the game.

“In my professional career I’ve never played in front of this kind of huge crowd and it feels so good,” Hatate said. "I feel good that I was able to contribute to that victory.

'It was difficult to communicate because of so much noise, so this is why I would look carefully at my team-mates to try and read their movements, what they were doing and thinking and it was the same for them.'

“This was the only way we could do it and it was very important in that situation.

“I felt the passion of the supporters, and it was higher than any other game I’ve played. This was more than just a derby, it was a game for first or second place, so it meant even more to everyone.”

Ange Postecoglou’s side produced an exhilarating first-half display of attacking football where, but for the efforts of Rangers goalkeeper, Allan McGregor, the half-time scoreline could have been even greater in Celtic’s favour.

As it was, the Rangers stopper could do nothing to stop Celtic’s Japanese midfielder from adding to his goals tally, which had kicked off the previous week with a stunning strike against Hearts at Tynecastle.

He opened the scoring after just five minutes, controlling the ball on the edge of the box from a corner before shifting it on to his right foot and guiding it through a ruck of players and into the back of the net.

It was the perfect start for Celtic, and they pressed forward at every opportunity, looking to add to their goal tally.

That it took until the 42nd minute to do so was a surprise to everyone watching, but the goal was worth the wait.

The move was started down the right by the outstanding Josip Juranovic, who fed it to Matt O’Riley. He knocked it inside to Liel Abada who, in turn, fed the ball to Hatate.

The midfielder controlled the ball on the edge of the area and then, with little back-lift, curled a precise shot beyond McGregor and into the net.

And even as the celebrations continued for that goal, Hatate then turned provider, crossing into the box from the left wing where Abada pounced inside the six-yard box to make it 3-0 before the break.

“Before the game, I didn’t imagine I’d score goals like that, admitted Hatate.

For us to score three as a team was incredible, but what we did was because of how hard we train, because of all the effort we put in as a team.

“Both goals were very nice for me, especially the second. It was pretty much my style because I controlled the ball and I finished the way I always like to. So this is very symbolic of who I am.

'I didn’t know the game would be shown across the world, but I knew my family and friends have been helping me and I just want to say thanks for their support.'

“They are the reason why I am here and I would like to pay them back.

“I am not yet 100 per cent fit, but I really enjoy the style of Celtic. In each game, I can do more things and I want to keep improving and do what the manager wants from me.”

FFS, we’re getting nailed for fielding an illegal player now. Guy used telepathy to communicate with teammates, on top of creating clones of himself in multiple locations.:56:
