    Would have Soro over McCarthy.

    Would rather Giakoumakis didn't start.

Front 3 of Forrest Abada Jota

    I think we'll line up:

    Hart
    Juranovic Carter-Vickers Starfelt Taylor
    Hatate McCarthy O'Riley
    Abada Giakoumakis Jota

We need to go at them right from the off and be much more clinical than we have in recent games.

The problem with McCarthy starting is the press..

We press high up and he doesn't have the pace to get about for long spells..

Taylor also up against Diallo or Sakala will get done for pace..

Jackie is also a worry after that shambolic performance today..

We've got enough in us to do them. 9 point's out of 9, finally beating them and going top for the first time this season....what a momentum shifter that would be....but the player's I've highlighted, are a concern..

Hopefully we get some sort of surprise with a McGregor, Kyogo or Maeda from the bench at least..

They are really poor at the back and don't like being pressed. Can see us hurting them..

We're due a few goals. Today we were poor but still should've had 4 or 5. Siegrist is a much better keeper than the beast as well....no way he makes a couple of those saves..

We aren’t blessed with many options for this game unfortunately and our bench is not the strongest. This is why I think I’d take a point. I’m convinced we’ll win the league if we don’t lose. I know we should be looking to gub them, but looking at who’s missing for us and how strong we will be in a few weeks, I’d take a draw.

    Midfield and attack worries me.

McCarthy is a massive 50/50 but it probably has to be him. Neither Forrest or Giakoumakis fill me with confidence.

I'd probably prefer Soro in the game for an hour but dropping O'Riley back in the 6 as a result (no ideal), as he's played there before and have Soro next to Hatate..

Soro too much of a liability as the last line but has the leg's and energy to go with the Hatate and O'Riley in midfield..

I think McCarthy being too immobile would hamper us and leave gaps in the middle..

The huns will play the high press, a worry for me is when we play it out from the back, at times we can be slow and can result in mistakes being made.

I don't see it man. They usually sit off us, man mark McGregor and just sit tight until we get near them, then try hit on counter.

I think we start GG and if its not working then move abada through the middle, like today.

I still think he can be a handy player for us, despite the poor performance today.

Aye that was last season when we were slow all over..

I can't see them pressing us high with Roofe and getting played though....risking us running down on Goldson and the beast. They lack pace at the back outwith Bassey who is a big diddy..

They'll sit tight as they know we have the pace and creativity to murder them....then they'll go long and especially out wide, probably to whoever is on Taylor's side and will look to exploit him..

Agreed and Van Bonckhorst is fairly negative as a manager so they will sit in and try to stiffle the game using Kent and Diallo as outlets. I am not too concerned by their midfield of Kamara, Arfield and Aribo. McCarthy, Hatate and O'Riley should be equal to that. If we had McGregor, Hatate and Rogic I would be supremely confident of a win. As it is it will be tight.

If they were smart they would sit off us and counter-attack. We waste an awful amount of chances and they're better than the usual dross that sit in against us.

Thing is, I don't think they'll be smart enough to play that way, and will try and match us man for man, which will play into our favour. Morelos out is a massive bonus, as Itten and Sakala are pish and Roofe isn't much better.

I do fear for Diallo vs Taylor, but let's be honest, they could put any RW there and I'd still be feart.

If Mcgregor is anywhere near fit for this he has to start for me. Major risk but this game could decide the title.

It will be interesting to see how they approach it, we'll have to wait and see, you could be right.

We can look nervous at times playing it out from the back, i think they will feel confident they could exploit this, will be surprised if they allow us space and they play on the counter, but tbh honest i don't really have a scooby. :56: :52:

I can see them sitting in like *. The second they get the ball they'll punt long diagonals to the goth. Goldson especially, all he does is punt diagonals all game, every game.

I'd be amazed and delighted if they press us. We'll cut right through them and have a field day getting in behind with pace.

Watched their highlights there and their dangermen are definitely Aribo and the new boy they got from Utd on loan. If we can nullify they two as well as stopping crosses from Tavernier and Barassic then we have a great chance. Hopefully we don't go with Taylor at LB as I think their loan guy will skin him for pace but I don't know who we should have marking Aribo - any thoughts?

I have a real feeling Kyogo and Mcgregor will play
Ang has been so vague when answering how long they will be out for it really leads me to think something is coming

the other thing that will be incredibly interesting will be deadline day
It’s very very possible they could loose one or more players. If they loose any of Goldson, Aribo, Kent, Kamala, it will knock the stuffing out of them

I hate the * but there’s no doubt they are a different team with Morealos in it

If it was Gerrard still in charge, I've no doubt they'd sit off and counter-attack us, and like every other time It'd probably work a treat, still something I think we need to improve.

Under gio? I'd be shocked if they didn't try and go man-to-man with us, especially with us missing players. It'll fall right into our hands.

I would have been content for Bitton to be on him but now it looks like McCarthy is going to have to show why he was signed. It is a make or break game for him unless Guchi is fit and ready to go which seems unlikely. Either way whoever is playing in the number 6 role is going to be tasked with being on Aribo.
