    It’s old school that for me, I get it because I like the 1-11 numbers on the pitch, maybe a wee 25 flung in with the Genius Midfielder’s like Lubo and Naka (because it’s a Celtic thing that) but the guy was born in 2000 odds, grew up with * taking any numbers they want, probably doesn’t give a single *.

    I just kind of think, so what if some of us like the old school numbers? Doesn’t make us pedantic or not as concerned about the performances on the pitch.

    I agree with you though: I like the odd maverick number thrown in, like Lubo, Wanyama, Hooper, etc, but generally I prefer as close to 1-11 as possible. To me, I see it like an affirmation of who the manager sees as his first XI.
    Ok, that can backfire, but imo it shows a seriousness somehow; a commitment to order, habit, etc.
    I realise that does sound v old school, but folk need to live and let live, and drop this sanctimonious ‘I care about performance on the pitch’, as though the rest of us don’t.

    Pace of the game probably caught him out at first but he's been brilliant for his debut..

    Touches are class and gets about well..
