This one has been dead for a while or a non-starter. We moved on to McGree and that's fallen through.

Next is the Algerian lad.

 

That’s not technically true mate. To be fair to Nicholson he’s seemingly negotiating on several fronts rather than putting all our eggs in one baskets.

Wolf has been a proper slow burner, but we’re not out of the running. I do think part of the issue with McGree is a hesitancy on Celtic’s part to pull the trigger right now, as there’s a belief that Wolf may be obtainable.

Not to immediately destroy that mate, but I don’t hold high hopes of us signing Wolf to be perfectly honest. Apparently the finances on the deal are a major obstacle.

It’s a difficult situation though. Do we sign McGree now and then possibly find out we could have got Wolf after all, or hold out hope for the better player and risk getting neither.

 

Wonder if its the purchase cost or wages thats the issue?

After Ange’s press conference, I can’t see this one happening unless it unfolds like the CCV deal on the last day or so and only if Borussia Monchengladbach get desperate to get his wages off the books.

Based on what?

We have a manager who doesn’t want loan signings who aren’t realistically going to make their stay permanent. On top of that, Wolf earns more than our highest earner and his current market value would be our highest transfer fee ever paid.

So, as much as I’d love to have him here, what makes you think that it’s a certainty he’s obtainable?

 

why is wolf not playing for his club? i read somewhere he broke his leg in2019 has he properly recovered or can he just not get a game .

 

Yeah I think when you look at it this one was a non-starter. I think we’re just one of those names media/agents throw around.

 

I’m not saying we won’t get him. I just don’t understand why some people think deals like this are easy for us to make and should be done at the click of fingers.

We definitely enquired about fees etc, but I doubt it will go further.

Yes. We have definitely spoke to both Gladbach and the player’s agent.

Gladbach expect his future resolved in the next few days, but unless there’s been major movement since last week then it won’t be to us.
