    Jota is the only person who can dictate his future with this loan and option to buy deal.He’s got unfinished business here,even had his family up at Pittodrie in amongst the great away support and they loved it.Must still be injured if he’s not back in training which is a worry but quite confident he’ll sign a permanent deal.

    If he is wise he will progress his career here , in 6 month he has played if not injured , done very well to the point that he is gaining recognition, its a no brainer , chance of silverware and Europe.

    Celtic are closing in on a permanent deal for Jota


    Jota has made a superb impact in Glasgow since arriving on a season-long loan from Benfica last summer.

    Celtic have been in talks with the Portuguese winger’s parent club over the prospect of turning that arrangement into a long-term agreement with figures around £6 million mooted.



    Nailing down a permanent agreement for Jota would be another huge boost to the boss and the club’s supporters with the Portuguese already making a big splash.

    The attacker grabbed eight goals this season for Postecoglou and created many more before a hamstring injury sustained against Hearts at the beginning of December forced him onto the sidelines.

    However, Jota is working on his return to fitness and Celtic may now be able to keep him long term if the deal can be finalised with McGree also now a strong contender to be in the fold.

    Jota is a no brainer because even the worst case scenario would be selling him for double what we've paid, so I'm not too surprised this is going ahead (still fantastic of course)

    The real surprise would be signing the japanese lads, Mcgree, Jota AND CCV this window.

    Totally agree. It is an absolute no brainer. Given what we have seen so far we would be out of minds not to make this happen if Jota is wiling to sign a long term deal. Makes sense for both really. Jota gets the platform to progress himself as a player and gain a big profile and if he progresses the way he looks capable of then we are looking at Tierney money or more even in a couple of seasons plus in the meantime we have a player who can really elevate our team.

    I will be thrilled if it goes through and genuinely pleasingly shocked that we've activated the clause this early.

    He is literally one of our best players and the calibre of player that we should be targeting if we are to improve as a club.
