If the Huns were in the same position as Ange is then they would have Wright - Hagi - Barker as their front 3 (being generous) and no attacking options on the bench for about 5 games so far this season.

 

Our injuries and squad depth were always going to hamper us. Seems from the first game that he's had to play a depleted starting 11. January window is massive.

 

Real concern now that we'll drop points at the weekend. If we do, it'll be looking very grim for the league.

No denying that. I wasn't making any comparisons to Lennon about him.

There's massive progress and a clear style of play being developed but in amongst that we've also made some * mistakes; one's that can't simply be brushed over because we've won the League Cup or seen some passages of lovely football.

We need to win this League by hook or by crook. Everything and I mean everything, falls behind that in priority. Currently we're not on track to do that.

 

And our * looks very small

 

That's my concern too.

Think we need to risk Kyogo for that game, even if he's half fit.

 

I’ve never been convinced that we would win the league this season. I fully trust and back Ange but it was always going to be a tough task to rebuild and win the league this season. I definitely believe he’s the right man and next season will be a different story.

Obviously I’m not giving up hope yet but we’ve dropped silly points too many times already and I can see it happening again. Livi home and away, Dundee Utd home and St Mirren away. You don’t drop points in those fixtures and win leagues.

He definitely needs to find a plan B for games like tonight. Hopefully addresses this in January because there’s definitely a pattern emerging.

Huns aren’t amazing by any stretch of the imagination but they’ve got a pretty settled team and more depth than us. Change of manager probably came at the right time for them as well.

 

And he risked it again at the weekend and won us a trophy.

If he didn’t play Kyogo at the weekend and we got beat but he played tonight and we won he’d be getting blamed for not having Kyogo on the bench at the weekend.

If we don't we won't win. Genuinely believe that. Our style of play is entirely reliant on him.

 

Aye 100% back him and the board need to back him.

He undoubtedly made poor choices in the real betis game though. We just need to beat St Johnstone, get our signings in and hopefully a lot of players currently injured cam make a recovery

 

The game v The Huns is a must win, but win it and the picture changes again..

Ange has made mistakes but nothing is lost yet and I trust him to get us the league this season, we are making it hard for ourselves just now tho.

 

He didn't do it again at the weekend, there was a reward to balance against the risk. There's no comparison between that and subbing him on v Betis. It was a nothing game.

 

I think you're being slightly harsh here mate.

No one will disagree that the Betis decision was stupid. Its, by far, my biggest gripe with Ange so far, and the Livingston at home game is another where he messed up.

At the same time, he's had half of his squad injured for large parts of the season, and has been forced to play fullbacks and youth players on the wings. He literally had no fit first team strikers currently (Granted, he should have a youth striker on the bench at least)

If he can get us into the winter break 6 points or less behind the huns, with a trophy in the bag? It's an incredible feat. It might not feel like it, but with the state our squad was in last Summer (and currently) he's done great.

 

He * up at the shitpit playing Kyogo out wide & Eddy through the middle, that was a big mistake imo.

 

I don't disagree, but Edouard came on and changed the game against Alkmaar, I understood why ange done it at the time.

 

But you’re somehow just deciding that if he didn’t play against Betis somehow he’d have played tonight and got on the end of that Ralston cross

Football doesn’t work like that. The fact people are still going on about that sub tells you how bad the squad is.
