    clubs to vote

Scottish Premiership clubs have been asked to vote on when the winter break should be introduced.

The three options are to pause as planned after 3 January, start the break after the Boxing Day fixtures or begin the hiatus before Sunday's games.

The SPFL board are encouraging clubs not to vote for the third option due to the few dates available to play games.

Should option two be chosen, a return to play would take place in the week beginning Monday 17 January.

First time I've been optimistic about this since the news broke. Common sense prevails.

So we need 9/12 clubs to vote for option 2. If games are to go ahead tonight and before Christmas, our game should still be called off because of positive cases in the St Mirren ranks.

I think I read that this professor Leitch, or however he's called, said that the peek should be at the end of January, begin of February. If that's true, postponing games won't bring back fans in 3 or 4 weeks.

From our perspective (injuries and possibly new players) it still makes sense and I'm all for it, hoping the probable won't come true and fans will be back. Because I just can't bear any more of those sterile behind closed door games.

It will if in 3 or 4 weeks it emerges that the number of severe cases isn’t enough to overwhelm the NHS. By that point there should be sufficient evidence to assess the lag period between infection and serious illness and give an indication of how mild the strain actually is.

If by then there isn’t a huge increase in hospitalisations or death then there’s no scientific justification to keep people out.

The clubs who want to bring it forward need to ensure they don't split the vote and agree on one of the options.

    Cheers mate...

Few dates available? Wont we have 3 weeks where the break was intended to fulfill fixtures?

i would assume we are back to full stadiums after this break.
i mean the whole point of this three week shut out was in order to roll out the booster program was it not. If its limited spectators, what does that say about the vaccines that have been getting forced upon people.

Would be handy to know what's happening before we play tonight, if we don't have a boxing day match we may see a slightly stronger side tonight.
