That was literally what happened. I said there is no data to support that closing stadia will influence rates... Conclusion I'm a sheep. I've never even been to Aberdeen!

Guy can't even use a full stop or spell 'what' correctly. He's supposed to be the one with the true knowledge of 'wot' is happening behind the scenes regarding covid?

Will be interesting to see the data after the 3 weeks is up. We will see how much of a difference closing a outdoor stadium where folk go to on a weekly basis for a couple hours really makes. Probably not very much would be my guess. But let’s always make football the scapegoat and punish it first.

That's just not true. In Switzerland we use the vaccination certificate to now keep restaurants, bars, leisure venues and football games open. It's our tool to avoid another lockdown and I'm glad our government has some sense! The unvaccinated can't get into restaurants etc but they're free people and those are the consequences of their decisions! We don't allow them to fill up our hospitals anymore. It's a joke that the SNP introduces such measurements but the one's who create the most hospitalizations are still allowed in everywhere. The vaccinated have to pay the price for the
unvaccinated. That's just ridiculous! Used correctly, the vaccine passport can be useful and believe me, especially Westminster has for years much better surveillance tools in power. But funnily, while I was opposing mass surveillance for years, the ones who are now loudest against the vaccine password never gave a *.

My argument still stands , people have rights and freedom of choice , they should not be forced to do something against thier will , would u agree ? , my issue is wot has been done till now has not worked and people are angry that the new measures being implemented don't add up , along with many others , should people be threatened they will lose thier jobs if they don't get vaccinated, this is so fkn wrong .

The rates will go up as everyone is forced indoors due to the time of year and they'll say it was right to severely cap attendances at football grounds as rates would've been a lot higher if they didn't.

There's zero evidence for that train of thought though. None.

We only care about hospitalisations and deaths. If both aren't being impacted, there's * all reason to be this harsh with football et al.

This will probably attract a lot of anger, but the bolded especially is bang on.

Freedom of choice isn’t freedom from consequence.

Yup. The case numbers are rising faster than ever with the new variant. Add in Xmas and NY and with the sheer number of people watching the Glasgow and Edinburgh Derbys from pubs and gaffs now closing the stadiums is surely not gonna make that much of a difference.

Indeed, it's sadly the exact thing that a lot of people who cry freedom forget.

People gathering indoors to watch football together will make it worse not better. The game going ahead on Sky TV 2nd January will definitely be a super spreader event if it goes ahead.

Already had several colleagues and family members testing positive or waiting on PCR results over the last few days. That's their Christmas *.

M8 I will be respectfull towards you since you have not resorted to stupid calls of conspiracy theorist , people are to quick to judge without reading my point , if you give up your right to free choice and are being forced against your will through similar measures akin to wot black people had to endure, being made to feel different, not allowed into venues others are allowed into , wot comes next .regarding your post , the passports have failed to work if this is the result now , no passport is gonna get you into the football now , vaccinated can still pass the virus to others , vaccinated can still end up in hospital, if 80% have been jabbed and 20% have not ,let's say 10% of that 20 could be old or vulnerable which is highly doubtful, as most of them have chosen to be vaccinated,so 10% could end up in hospital, it would not happen to all at the same time , so why can't nhs cope with that , probably because vaccinated are being admitted just the same .

Totally wrong. They don’t only care about hospitalisations and death…the worry is that because this strain is so virulent it won’t kill many but it will infect many and thus lead to many isolating….if you have a massive amount isolating then it’s only reasonable to expect lots of them to be social care or hospital workers…and in that case there won’t be as many workers providing care which will impact on social care providers and hospitals having enough staff to care for those ill in hospital or elderly and vulnerable at home or in care homes…jeez there was a care home provider on tv last week stating that they had 20 beds in a nursing home that they couldn’t fill because half the staff are isolating so couldn’t take any more residents in

Then why are they making it worse by not closing everything down from today? Why wait 5 days? If they care?
