There is absolutely no reason the winter break cannot be brought forward.

Bring it in now and it not only helps stop the spread of Omicron, it also will not financially impact any club in Scotland in the long run as the games will be played at a later date with full capacity crowds.

Play through with the governments restrictions and that will impact every club financially.

It's so simple to do, there is no world cup in the summer as its in December next year, the season could very easily be extended by 2-3 weeks if necessary.

But hey, that would be too easy.

How so? I think the majority in here are discussing what is essentially a lock out and are justifiably angry at how it's been handled.

Why are people mocking people for being angry about this?

If it doesn’t bother you then fair play but it’s ignorant as * to slaughter people for being upset. Regardless of your opinion there’s plenty of reason in the data to at least argue against this.

Mental health matters until it doesn’t eh?

Haven’t read all this thread, been to busy ranting in the house, but are people being mocked for being angry at being locked out of Celtic games? If so the ones mocking can go and take a flying * to themselves. Being stopped from going to see Celtic and handing the scum a huge advantage is appalling. * the huns and * the SNP

Also see if there’s any doubt about an opportunistic agenda - or if anyone wants to defend Sturgeon and the SNP, the 500 cap regardless of arena is the smoking gun.

I want independence. I’ve supported the SNP, but as a football supporter and a Celtic supporter I’m under no illusion now that they think of me as undesirable scum.

More people will be in Buchanan Galleries with aircon, passing products to each other, serving food etc. than will be allowed to sit in an enormous open air football stadium. There’s a clear agenda.

Looking at this logically, no club in the world in Celtic’s position wouldn’t ask the same.

Punishes home fans, eliminates home advantage in critical game, results in significant revenue loss. All inequal considering the single game played vs rangers season to date.

And if anyone tries to tell me boot on other foot they wouldn’t ask for the same then they are borderline simple.

The winter break will be pulled forward - sky don’t want their flagship games televised with no atmosphere. If anything, it ramps match importance up further and will drive viewing figures further still.

The moaning over in “bear” land will be rife, filled with foaming muppets failing to embrace the simple facts above.

Of course, it’s even further benefit to us that it allows time for incoming transfers and injury remediation. While they lose players to AFCON.

    Nae luck - * off.

St Mirren wanting the games tomorrow and Saturday because Covid is rife. The simple solution is to call the break early then start back as soon as restrictions are rescinded.

I've never worked out why 'we will go into lockdown on the 27th' I'm guessing covid won't spread between now and then? Too much party politics where the safety of people is less than the economy of the UK. Who's going to pay for it when everyone's either dead or recovering from illness. It should have been locked down in March 2019 for 3 months, no-one in no-one out. Yes it would have hurt the precious economy but not like it is now, for large and small businesses alike it's death by slow bleeding. It's doing no-one any favours, mentally or financially. The government have well and truly * it by not getting a grip of it when it become.

I really feel for everyone struggling with this, especially them that are amassing debt because of it as this effects things for a long time to come.

Good post the regardless of arena size is the smoking gun so Celtic park is 6 times the size of st mirren but both teams are only allowed 500 how does that make sense …. It doesn’t

Another dagger in the heart of the 'We're just following Science' policy decisions.

Here's Jason Leitch 1 week ago...
    20211221_190113.jpg

What's changed that Swinney (not a Scientist) can claim it was a potential super-spreader event?
Or Sturgeon (not a Scientist) can take the decisions we've seen today which contravene the comments made by the Government's Scientist?

    Make it make sense.

I didn’t even know that buffoon said that! So, taking that into account, and the fact that they are allowing all football games to go ahead at full capacity tomorrow night, then suddenly deeming all events requiring serious restrictions from St. Stephen’s Day onwards…….erm, not one piece of sense can be made of that at all.
