The only sensible decision would be to bring forward the Winter Shutdown and play the outstanding games with fans at a later date. Anything else would make no sense...

Football matches will be capped at 500 people from December 26th in a bid to control Omicron.

A source told the Record First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will announce the limit for outdoor events for three weeks.



It will effectively mean sports matches are fan free for the period.

One metre physical distancing will also be required.

In England, there continues to be uncertainty over Covid restrictions after the Cabinet failed to reach a decision on Monday, though Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the Government will “reserve the possibility” of implementing new restrictions.

 

Think there will be a push to halt the season now. Clubs won’t want lost revenue and fans clamouring for their money back. The huns would be fine with it which in Scotland as ever is a pig in the ointment

If there is a 500 person limit then it’s over to the SPFL surely?

Seems sensible to bring forward the winter break and restart in mid Jan, giving people the best chance of actually being able to attend.

You do realise that any decision she makes regarding covid is because she has specialists and advisors aswell as data telling her what decisions to make….do you really think she’s shutting pubs or closing stadiums without a multitude of data and people advising her that that is what needs done

 

Bringing forward the winter break only works if the lockdown does indeed last for a matter of weeks.

However, every other lockdown has been billed as being 2/3/4 weeks and we now how it goes…

 

and 2 days before the game celtic get covid cases - can read it like a book!

and the ACON will be called off so they will have Aribo available etc.

the amount of times after europe they get a home game is staggering!!
