Not to put a downer on things, but people need to remember times like this when we go through to occasional sticky patch, which we will.

The progress we’ve made under him in 6 months or so has been unbelievable. I was ready to effectively right this season off as a rebuilding job. Ange wasn’t.

Sorry I ever doubted this man which I did after the first few games this season. The difference in the play this season to last has been amazing. Hopefully he can get us the league too this season. I believe he can but regardless if he does or not he’s been class and the rebuild was of catastrophic proportion

The fact he's won a trophy at the first time of asking after the utter shitshow he inherited in the summer is pretty * good to say the least. Baffles me when I read stuff on here that folk are still unsure about Ange as the manager.

I was on the fence a few of his decisions were baffling but he genuinely seems to get Celtic and understand what we're about I think I was generally put off by the * licking aussies saying he could do no wrong but he's won me around (not at the levels of the aussies) but I do belive he is capable of building something special if we can got out the glass hamstring problems our team has

When Ange Postecoglou walked through the doors for the first time as manager of Celtic, he knew what was expected of him from the supporters.

Success at the club is so heavily linked to the lifting of trophies and the manager was well aware that getting silverware would be his remit, despite a whole host of changes to the squad.

With the first trophy of the season now in the bag after a 2-1 win over Hibernian in the League Cup final at Hampden Park (Sunday), the manager wants to build on the success and write more history and memories.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the trophy triumph, Ange Postecoglou said: “This is the start. When I took over I knew after the last year that this club couldn’t wait another year for success, it had to happen right away.

“From the moment I arrived it hasn’t been smooth and we had to withstand significant obstacles almost on a daily basis.

“They’ve always found a way and they really believe in what we’re doing. Even today, the challenge of conceding a goal and their response is one of a team worthy of being champions in this competition and I’m sure proud of them.

“This club’s had a lot of success in recent times but this is a new team and yet they’ve been determined to lay their own mark right from the start.

“I took that responsibility seriously and if I didn’t think I could take us to this point then I wouldn’t have accepted it because that’s the expectation.

This is part one and we still have a lot of growth but if we keep showing the same sort of resilience then we can do it.”

The final was won as a collective team effort, but one man stole the headlines for his contribution to the success.

Doubts were cast over whether Kyogo would make the final through injury, but Ange Postecoglou named him in his starting XI and the Japanese striker made his mark, scoring two exquisite goals to seal the cup.

The manager said: “He’s a fantastic player but he’s also a great human being.

“He just had it in his head that he was going to play today no matter what anyone else told him. From the moment he got injured he just thought he was going to be here on this day.

“He wasn’t 100 per cent and I was kind of hoping he would just play within himself but he’s a quality player and a person.

'His movement is incredible but his composure in such a big game to finish in those ways, he’s just a top-class player.'

As always, the success of a cup win is a shared experience between staff, players and supporters.

Ange Postecoglou says he’s felt the support since he arrived and is delighted that he could deliver something for the Celtic fans around the world to enjoy.

“The fans were brilliant but they have been since day one,” he said. “I know when I took this responsibility that after last year the first thing I could do is offer them some hope that better days were ahead.

“The fans saw something in us and this team and I’m just super happy to send them home today with the victory.

“I’ve been getting messages from all over the world. I always knew this club was universally popular but I’ve had messages from all around and I’m sure they’re all celebrating tonight

These problems you speak of require expansion of the sports science/physio department to solve. Ange must demand more appointments be made.

I genuinely couldn't be happier for him. questioned by people at every turn. Some fans even wanting him sacked. Given almost nothing in the way of help behind the scenes, by the club.

Going forward, we'll draw games, we'll lose games. We might even lose the league to the DOBs. But I believe in this guy and his ideas.

Same mentality Alex Ferguson had. I think it might have been his last CL final victory with Manchester United when he said something like "I felt a buzz for a couple minutes, then my mind turned to the next match"

Wouldn’t want anyone else in that dugout.

then watched his first presser he had me hook line and sinker.

fell in love with the big Aussie *!
