Good experienced option to complement what we have in either wide area would be Youcef Belaili he is a regular international for Algeria, actually was him who scored that goal the other night in the 17th minute of added time and his Qatar based club have released him for it so is a free.

He tends to play off the left but could easily play as a 10 or probably on the right, he is mainly right footed but has a great eye for a killer pass and is comfortable carrying the ball. He also has a good strike on him so carries a goal threat.

He would be good business on a free to provide depth and could cover Jota and possibly the role Rogic is playing for us.

Reminds me of GG, carrying about 5-10kg too much with a big pooper. Takes the same daft pens too!

Not sure if that is just his build or if he is carrying too much weight, the thing that impressed me most was his weight and variety of passing in the final third, with the exception of Rogic it is something we sorely lack in the current team hence why we struggle when he is a injured to break down teams that sit deep.

Being honest I don’t see him anything like Giakoumakis as he’s not a striker more a wide player or 10 who can carry the ball, pick and pass and finish. Also the fact there would be no fee to bring him in and he’s currently playing competitive football suggests he could be ready to go quickly.

One thing I hadn’t consider was AFCON next month, as he’s he regular for Algeria.

Yes it was more a comment on the shape of his body in comparison to what we saw from Giakoumakis. Definitely different players. My worry was and is about the fitness to play our system, you don’t see many players with that body shape playing in high press teams in top leagues.

Ayumu Seko. 21 year old centre half..

Might as well stick this in here as he looks like he'd be class for us..

His passing would be some asset but I do worry about physicality as he is quite small for a centre back in Scotland or the UK. We are already a small team.

My other reservation is I watched him playing against Junker and he couldn’t handle his movement and physicality, Seko was all over the place.

He is only 21 but in terms of someone who can come in and help us this season I am not so sure.

Edit: If we were to go for a centre back playing in the J league, I would look at Koki Machida of Kashima Antlers, still only 23 is 6’3, good in the air scoring 5 goals this year, good range of passing both long and short and fairly comfortable on the ball. He is also used to playing in a system where the two centre backs are left exposed as the full backs push on. He is left footed as well. A centre back with his qualities in Europe would set you back a fair amount.

I really want Calvin Ramsay. Been impressed with him whenever I've seen him.

I know we can't have Juranovic, Ralston and Ramsay fighting it out for one spot, especially when there's other areas of the pitch crying out for reinforcements.

Still think he'd be class here, mind.

We missed out on Robertson because we had KT, think not going for him would be a similar mistake.

    He'd be excellent for us..

Don't think we'd pay what they'll want for him and with 2 right back's already....unlikely..

    No we never.

Lennon didn’t think Robertson was better than Izaguirre so didn’t have any interest in him.

Was Ronny not manager 2014 when he moved to Hull? Saying that KT wasn’t playing yet as well so * knows :56:

He joined them the summer Ronny joined us.

We were interested in the January but Lennon said no cos he wasn’t near the level of Izzy which was quite clearly a load of * to anyone who’d seen Robertson for United.

Think his point was that we had good stock in left back options so we weren't on the look out for one when Robertson was at Utd.

It'll be the same for Ramsay at Aberdeen. We have decent options at right back so won't go for him.

    We weren’t though.

Robertson was miles ahead of Izzy. Izzy was a complete liability by that point.

Ramsay for the money he’d cost and with the state of our squad doesn’t really line up right now considering RB is probably the only position we have in the squad with two players who could easily be first choice in our strongest 11.

Depending on the number who arrive in January we may not need him, but I still think we should have signed Kristijan Lovrić in the summer.

He's still banging in the goals from midfield this season and has scored winners in a fair few of Gorica's matches. He'* double figures for the last 4 seasons from the wing.

Is Awer Mabil worth a shout as an option off either wing?

He is very quick and out of contract at the end of the year so would be available for a small fee in January. He’s 26 now, looks comfortable on his left foot which none of our other wingers are and has played CL and EL previously.

Also the fact Ange knows him based on our CL qualifier and their embrace before kick off. He seems like one of those players who has good ability but hasn’t really fulfilled his potential and wondering if Ange could be the man to get him there.

Yuta Higuchi. Just signed for Kashima Antlers I think but really like the look of this guy. Technical, quick, creative and loves to have a dig. One to keep an eye on in future.

*The pass at 3.18 is sublime
