So discounting players that didn't work out because of injury, like Arzani, or players that have been "ok" but not really good enough, like Taylor, our board, in the past 10 years have * away more than...

    .... Over...

    64 MILLION POUNDS.

Welcome to "pished up against the wall" club Jackie.

Enjoy your requisite loan next year.

I mentioned these names when we were linked with him and got slagged rotten. Guy had one good year and then zero pre-season. Hardly a screaming advert for signing him. Our scouting is utterly chronic sometimes.

Mental that folk still have faith in this * after watching him plodding around the pitch, offering * all, costing us points.

The fact is that the guy should be seizing his chance just now while Kyogo and Ajeti are injured, but he can't even stay fit for more than a couple of weeks at a time.

Or, more likely, thought he was going to have an easy time here and now that he knows the intensity that we play at and the level of expection, he's suddenly developing unexplained niggles to keep him out of the squad week after week. As many of the underwhelming players that we regularly take a punt on seem to do.

What is this place like, some folk constantly needing a whipping boy. The guy has only 3 appearances, he was injured preseason so hasn't had the chance to fully get up to speed. You can argue the rights and wrongs of that decision but you can't write a guy off after so little time. In the small amount of game time he has had, the penalty miss aside, he has looked good. No doubt still needs to prove himself but that doesn't mean he is a dud

It’s been a right indifferent start with Giokoumakis, my biggest concern has been his fitness levels and number of injuries.

He played well when he came on in the EL a couple of times, looked strong in his hold up play and was trying to get on the end of things. St Johnstone game he was ok and got his goal, Livi he was awful, penalty miss aside he done nothing, then he’s been injured again.

Looks like a poor signing so far given it was known he had injury problems before, it was known he had only had one good season but the fact we can’t even get him on the park to judge him suggests he’s heading for the flop pile.

His fitness levels are a concern agree on that, but until he plays a run of 15/20 games if he can stay fit then can't really judge him IMO.

When he comes back from injury we have to give him a chance but if he breaks down again soon after his return we have to get rid.
    Same goes for Jullien

We can still judge him on what we've seen from him so far. Which has been dogshite

On paper its a decent target, top scorer in Holland and offers something different.

But I just can't see him imposing himself on the first XI enough. * knows, it's purely a gut feeling for me at the moment but I felt the same way about most of the others mentioned.

I wouldn't be surprised if Maeda comes in and blows him oot the water, put it that way.

Think it's wise to remember Ange's words in this case. He's said repeatedly that the team has been up against it from day 1 in terms of people being thrown in without a proper pre season.

That's referring to the questions about his style having an impact on the amount of injuries we get, but it's true even more so for GG as he was coming back from injury to begin with.

Am hoping his absence recently has been used to maximum effect in a fitness sense, and that by the time the winter break comes he'll be ready to go all out with the intense training Ange will no doubt have set up.

Then when we return we should see the big man get a proper crack at it. If not, and he has any more set backs injury wise, then I'll be all on board the 'hes a sick note' train.

    :giggle1: I suppose so.

Just feel like you never know what you're going to get from that league. Some real duds have banged the goals in over there in years gone by. Michael Higdon for one. Bjorn Johnsen, who was * for Hearts, scored 19 league goals for ADO the season after leaving Scotland. Vincent Janssen and Ricky Van Wolfwinkel are another two who tore it up over there and have failed as soon as they went to a higher level.

    Strange, strange league.
