Because he fits in with their Tory views.Will be a nightmare for fans if this guy is appointed going by his track record of victimising normal fans especially Celtic fans.Think the atmosphere is pish with the silent protests,wait and see what it’s like when this guy is appointed as head of security.

 

And the current protest as far as I understand is because the board won't meet fans reps. That is the current ask.

 

Probably now at the stage where they're refusing to been seen backing down. Pathetic

It really shouldn't be.

 

Would go against his I only deal with the playing football side stance he's taken. But it clearly is affecting the team, so yeah. He should be seeking clarity in my opinion.

 

IF the board do get Higgins,,, what will his position be? how much will his salary be ?? How long will his contract be ???

 

I genuinely think they go out their way to antagonise the fans.

The very fact he is/was being considered tells you all you need to know about how the board sees the fans. They know his history and the misery he and his fellow * were responsible for to the very lifeblood of our club and yet someone thought it a great idea to consider him as viable for the head of security post. It beggars belief.

 

Been reported there is a lot more too his appointment than the actual position .

 

The board wants Higgins to come in and give a football banning order to every one of the GB at the first opportunity they sing anything political. The repealed OFBA. Repealed for a reason.

This paranoid board. Want a dirty cop to come into the club with a direct line to every one or his pals in Police Scotland. Higgins must be out a job. For a reason.

Their santisited pish atmosphere today amounted to nothing more than moans and groans for 90 minutes. Mostly coming from the South Stand. Celtic Park sounded like the wives of the Celtic board in bed. Unsatisfied.

I support the Green Brigade. Their politics and their resolve. To break the ring of steel this board would gladly erect around Parkhead on match days.

There's nothing in the imperial armour of the Tory Celtic Board, that can break the spirit of a Celtic man who refuses to be broken.

Tiocfaidh ar la Higgins. Football without fans is nothing. Neither the creed nor nationality counts at Celtic. But the man himself. Blessing yourself, is not a crime. Neither is being a Glasgow Irish man, a fan of Christie Moore, the Wolfe Tones or Paddy Reilly. Let the people sing. Their stories and their songs and the music of their native land. Ireland that is. No Police brutality and intimidation inside Celtic Park.

Take a hike Higgins you bigoted pig. Find another hobby in life. It's not beating the living daylights out of Celtic fans.

 

This is my problem with the silent protest. Every Celtic fan I know or have met are against Higgins being appointed but feel the protest isn't good for the players on he park. I have seen the fans on here say well you all sing. If all fans agree on the reason but not the protest what do they do? Then we have the Bhoys arguing with fans that try to sing.

Ridiculous the board have sat through 3 home game's now, one being a European tie watched all over and still won't interact with a fan's group..

Earlier on you could only hear weans chanting. Was like walking past a nursery at lunch time..

 

Even knowing how incompetent the board are I am still shocked the board even considered Higgins for the role. It almost seems like it was done with malice as I cant comprehend someone being so short sited and incompetent. And then to just ignore the fans instead of putting your hands up and moving on ? The role isnt even that important its not like he is a player, a coach or a manager he is some sort of security consultant? There must be loads in the UK hire someone else.

I am fully behind the GBs decision to carry out silent protest they don't owe anyone anything, if you are bothered about the lack of atmosphere you can make you own noise. As an aside I don't support anyone giving other fans grief for making noise either though I think it should be a personal choice.

The biggest argument against the silent protest is that its affecting the players on the pitch and that is a concern for sure. However what Higgins and his cronys did transcends what happened on the pitch, this was the criminalization of football fans and attack on their freedom. I would rather lose the league and not hire Higgins than win it and employ him.

I am not angry at fans having a pop at the GB and anyone else protesting I fully understand their concerns about the performance on the pitch. My anger and frustration is aimed just a the board. I cant believe they didn't launch his CV straight in the bin, I cant believe they were going to offer him the job and I cant believe their silence on the matter. They have shown a complete disregard for Celtic fans and must be a mix of delusional, arrogant and completely out of touch.

Do the right thing hire someone else and allow everyone to concentrate on winning the league .

 

I get the protest but * I can see us losing points because of it, feels toxic AF and will rub onto the players..
