The fans groups have held a gun to peoples heads and told them they better protest.

Or am I missing the part where they’ve said it’s up to the individual.

I'd say for most of the points you've highlighted in your entire post actually alludes to it WORKING.

    Don't talk pish.

    Or, actually, I'll entertain you:

If silence is "unsettling" the team, then why aren't you starting up threads and criticizing the majority of the stadium not in that corner?

I don't think it's unsettling the team as much as it's giving opposition encouragement.

    Just saying

    * me right off just how many of our fans don't actually join in any song. Have they forgotten how to be a fan or sing along with their fellow fans?.

I’ve seen silent protests from the GB before and they ended them without getting what they wanted.

I wish to know why this one is any different, nobody had provided me and answer. I won’t be manipulated into feeling like lesser of a fan for this.

I would add the last sentence is more directed at * on twitter who have went for my throat on this issue.

Question, if others sing will they be looked upon as not in support of the cause and the reason for protests?

I felt around me on Thursday night that fans were hesitant to sing and join in with small groups of fans who were trying to get a song going

I don't think it's as black and white as it looks.

Stay silent- support the reason for protests.
Sing- not supportive of the protest

And why would asking that question make you any less of a fan?

Well, why don't you tell us why you think they've taken to doing a silent protest? What groups were the police generally targeting during this OBAF act?

    */sack the board..

    Back Ange and the Team!

I understand the level of anger and understand how difficult it must be for fans groups not to support the club they love..

There has to be a better tactic, one that allows everyone to get behind Ange and the team.

But then you'd be complaining about the other fans not supporting them. It's a rock and a hard place, the last thing any supporter wants is civil war between the supporters, that plays directly into the boards hands.

A hypothetical question, what happens if Higgins is appointed? Are they going to just stop going to the matches? stop singing? Because like its been mentioned there will always be singing groups of supporters, especially in CP. The standing section within the ground is much in demand, the simple thing the board will do is split the corner up, fire them in different parts of the stadium and put the next set of ultras in, then the circle continues. Was the same after the jungle was split up once the stadium was rebuilt.

Genuine questions, not an attack on you or your beliefs.

You're assuming they're not getting behind Ange and the team? They're still attending games, and as I said, acting like other supporters.

Can they stop attending games? Well, not really because most of them have bought season books
Can they make banners? Aye, but they won;t be looked at
Can they try and contact the board and make their feelings known? Yes. They've tried that, several times. As they say, the silence from the board is deafening
Would a protest outside work? Well, if last season's "protest" outside Celtic Park showed, not even * herrace fencing could get rid of the board

So, what are you left with? They know fine well the team and the board gain financially and atmospherically from the noise that they make, so * them no noise!

It's not just the GB, it's several fan groups..

But it's not that easy to get singing going when everyone is dotted around the stadium, the power of the GB is they are contained next to one another and chant together in unison.

    It's easier said than done.

Assuming the matter is not resolved by then, should there be a silent protest when we play the huns at CP ?

See in the future, if we're going to redevelop the main stand I'd like to see us knock down one of the stands behind one of the goals as well. In its place I'd like to see a massive single-tier stand - something similar to what Tottenham did - but have it completely safe standing. That way we'd hopefully get all those who want to sing and create an atmosphere in one place, instead of little pockets throughout the stadium.
