You made it out like the guy lied. He has nothing to do with the bhoys wasn' t involved with the signing so why would he talk bullshite. I was still at the game & joined in the stand up if you hate Higgins right at the end, which is a different option. I don't think the silent protest made any difference atall & thought there was other options to do rather having fans at each others throats.

Like I said the ball is in Celtics court now.

It’s up to them to come out and clear this up.

I started going to games when I was about 10 yrs old and I am now in my 60's and over those years I have seen a steady change in the dynamics of the Celtic support. When I was younger it seemed that everyone in the stadium sang their hearts out however, that changed dramatically when the seated stadiums were introduced. Instead of standing in the Jungle along with my usual crowd of mates, I now had to get a seat and was separated from most of my friends. I was now sitting amongst strangers and began to get strange looks from several of those sitting around me for signing at the top of my voice. It's weird how, when having your own mates beside you, you never really gave a * about anyone or what you sang. I think it has got steadily worse over the years and, apart from the big European nights or games against the huns and perhaps hearts, there is hardly any real singing and, if it wasn't for the GB, the atmosphere at Celtic Park would be practically non-existent. So yes m8, you are quite right. No use slagging off the GB if you are one of those who sit in silence throughout the game

In fairness, the Bhoys are the guys that attacked a Hun pub on a non match day and got held off by about 3 pensioners. Not the brightest so it’s fairly plausible.

The atmosphere was non existent before the Green Brigade. 2007/8/9.

Fans would groan, grumble for the full 90 minutes. With rare bursts of Willey Maley, you'll never walk alone at the start of a big game then sit down for the rest of the game.

By 2008 Celtic Park atmosphere was dead.

Everyone knew it was a shadow of its past even from Martin O'Niell days.

Everyone was pretending. It was cringeworthy what we used to sing. 'We love you Celtic, We do. Oh Celtic we love you', bla bla bla.

The Green Brigade changed everything. They changed football in this country. Rail seating for example. Love them. Everytime you go to Parkhead they've got a new song to sing.

The atmosphere missed them last night.

I wonder if one reason why most of the stadium outwith the GB don't sing as much as they did in years gone by is because a lot of the ST holders and die hards have got older.

    Definitely a factor.

No one really talks about working class people not being able to afford to go either.

Particularly in recent years the way jobs are going in certain sectors, first priority is making enough to support your family. Going to the games is a luxury.

Really?? What does that quote even mean?

Never heard of the Bhoys up until a few weeks ago but since then everything I've heard makes them sound like a group of violent, neds.

Can't be saying the fans are united and all behind this and then basically forcing people to not sing if they want to.

Intimidating and forcing other fans to participate isn't right though, ever?

Didn’t that wee ned group used to be called the Style Mile Vandals or something similar?

My first awareness of them recently was when I noticed them punching * out of their own against Betis

I also think with the all seater stadium it became harder to just go & be beside your mates at the game to start songs as a group. All my mates sit at different parts of the stadium. This is the reason the standing section was started as it was for a group of fans to start the signing & get the rest of the crowd involved for a good atmosphere. The GB do this very well but think the silent protest was the wrong way to go & has now got fans at each others throats :31:

The game midweek really didn't matter so most people didn't really bother with it. If it happens tomorrow, which looks likely most fans will be raging at it.
