If the GB are harming the team that much then maybe Ange and the players should back them and use their power within the club to back the fans.

I’m no GB fanboy but how anyone thinks they’re the problem here is insane to me.

Even if I didn't agree with why the GB are protesting, they are perfectly entitled to go to the game and be as loud or as quiet as they like. The same as any other fan. To complain and say they are costing us points is silly. You cheer louder if they don't want to.

If anyone thinks the board are gonna be bothered about a silent protest then they're kidding themselves on.

They will be laughing like * at this. The green brigade making themselves easier to ignore, it's probably what the * asked Santa for.

The board will happy in their belief that our support is split re the silent protest and will look upon it as an opportunity to divide and conquer the fans

I don't think anyone here, or even in the wider fanbase, thinks they're the problem mate.

The vast majority of supporters adore the GB, for the so many wonderful things they do, not just on a match day, but the charity drives, food bank collections etc.
Indeed, to my own mind, despite not having any voting power as body, they are the supporters last line of defence against a board determined to maintain a parasitic existence at this club. A check against tyranny if you like.

But the majority sentiment is that "silent protest" is detrimental to the team and the club. NOT the board.

I agree that the players should be able to their job regardless.
But at the same time, a silent protest will most certainly add a real air of negativity and perhaps even hostility, and not towards the board, but between the fans themselves , who have paid good money to watch the game and cheer their team, many of which now will feel either obliged by sentiment to join the protest, or feel outraged that they are being dictated to. Regardless that they aren't.

That's not a good way to galvanise the broader support base and make sure that ppl understand what's at stake here.

As has been said, there's literally THOUSANDS of ways they could ramp up the activism to oppose this utterly disgusting move by the BoD. Creating an atmosphere of churlishness inside OUR stadium, against OUR team, in front of OUR fellow support is an exercise of complete masochism.

A rethink should definitely be considered, and any future "silent protest" plans should be tossed in the * bin beside Higgins' CV.

I’m fully behind the protest for what it’s worth.

Just to be clear, I’m not sure a silent protest will do much but if that’s what they’ve chosen I’m behind it.

also to add, I’d be astounded if Higgins is appointed. It’s pretty clear the fan groups will not let this slide.

The board don't give a * a * what the GB do and a silent protest will be right up their street and the last protest we ended up dropping points and up to the rest of the support to make a noise and back the team then .
We are getting into the busy schedule of the Xmas fixtures and the team is playing well and only four points behind and hope the board see sense and don't appoint this man and if they do then the fallout could be bad and in the end up it will favour only one team and it won't be Celtic .

They have gauged other fans thoughts and the silent protest against livi shows that the fans that go to cp are behind and support it

Why you blaming GB. The statement quite clearly shows it’s a lot more than a GB protest

Some amount of * on this thread

    and yet

there are * on here who are stating that singing a * song is more important than standing up to the harassment and protesting

away tae * you selfish *

I hope that's true and the board have backed down on his appointment, some horrendous stories of fans harassed and effectively terrorised under Higgins watch.

Hopefully get confirmation soon so that fans have no fear of him controlling the match day experience and we can get back to supporting the team fully.
