Neil Lennon

By all accounts he had a decent first spell, not overly spectacular but decent nevertheless. My heart sank when he was offered the job again after the cup final

 

He inherited good sides and both times he allowed fitness levels drop to Sunday league level. Twice in office he * promising squads the exact same way.

(I'd like to add, the fact his two other tenures Bolton and Hibs he done the exact same)

 

Tbf he actually did well building a decent team in his first spell because he inherited an absolute mess. But aye the fitness levels were * but he doesn't believe in all that mumbo jumbo

 

That's the bit that stood out to me. What the * is he on about?

He just can't shut the * up. Every time he speaks he embarrasses himself further.

 

He built a solid team first time around to be fair to him. signed loads of duds too as well mind you

 

Bring him home!

He’s got it * backwards.

He goes on the radio and runs to the papers talking absolute * as if fans won’t hear it and as if potential CEO/DOF’s will believe it without doing any research before hiring him…

He’d be smarter keeping his mouth in the media.

 

He didn't inherit a good side first time round. The squad was a mess after Mowbray left.

He certainly did 2nd time round though and after the initial run of 8 or 9 months after taking over, the warning signs were certainly appearing. The Forster League Cup Final would have sounded a warning to any decent manager that was being objective, Lennon played virtually the same team a few weeks later and we lost as a result.

His weekly piping up is annoying as * but I can barely be bothered wasting any more energy talking about the guy or his time any more. He's burned his bridges, he's entrenched in his deluded beliefs and nothing will change that.

The annoying thing is that the club is starting to sprout some optimism again thanks to some performances & results under Ange. Instead of just letting that be and maintaining a silence he wants to cut in with whatever nonsense narrative about how hard done by he is. Tiresome. If you're reading this Neil, geez peace please; it's over.

 

Saw someone post on another forum he hot Commons to do his dirty work and underline Deila to get Lennon back in. Before last season I would have thought it was a lot of pish

 

I agree with this. Although he should have went earlier and the events of last season were nothing short of unforgivable, I dont believe this merits the blatent hatred a lot of people on here are directing towards him. I dont think even Lou Macari got it as tight as Neil's getting it at the moment.

His last season was a failure. In fact his whole 2nd stint was a bit of a downward spiral. But we'll never forget beating Barca and qualifying from the group stages.....thats certainly no easy task. Also although we should have beaten Copenhagen and Neil's tactics failed us there....he still came out of that Europa League campaign reasonably well....beating Lazio home and away. Im not saying he didnt need to go.....Im not saying he didnt stay too long....Im not saying his last season was not unforgivable.....I just dont think we should be reducing ourselves to personal insults of any of our former managers. Especially one who got us a reasonable amount of success in his time

 

Golf scholarship I think.

 

Lennon promised Commons a job as a coach in the academy when he was done.


The same Commons who Rodgers called out infront of the team because Commons was slagging a youth player to the first team because the youth player stayed behind himself after training and was practising himself out on the pitch.

I still wouldn’t be surprised if Commons ends up with a job here with the way we’re run though.

Nah it was at the very start of Rodgers job.

 

Rodgers sussed out Commons straight away. One of the best things he did was not give him a minute of game time

 

Think he sussed that whole clique out before he even got the job.

Stokes, Mulgrew, Commons punted as soon as possible.

 

Not surprisingly they were all saying they wanted Lennon back before BR was appointed

 

Holiday camp mentality.

 

I’m slowly coming round to the idea that mjallby did. A whole lot in that first spell and Lennon just took team talks and line ups before games
