I think the only major criticism I'd have of Ange so far is his team selections, which have cost us multiple times now, and his usage of certain players.

Every time he's dropped Kyogo or shifted him out wide we've been utterly pish, obviously we need to rest the boy now and then, but to drop him against our Bogey team was just poor. Rest him in Europe if we need to.

His use of LB'S has been bewildering, even with the lack of quality there. Scales has looked decent enough in his cameo's, and Bolingoli has played well in both his appearances, yet both are nowhere near the team. Ange might simply not rate them, and that's fair enough, but to continue shoe-horning a International RB there is poor. We need a settled player there soon.

I'd also like him to be a bit more bold with the midfield. He doesn't have much to work with in this area so this is more of a nit-pick, but playing Bitton against any team that sits back is asking for trouble, he slows us down too much. I'd like to see him try Abada or even Johnston in the 10 role, or give Shaw/Soro more game time from the bench.

We need 2-3 midfielders in January IMO.

Need a defensive mid with pace and energy, another 8 and also a young no10 who can potentially also play wide. The first two need dealt with as more of a priority though.

Made me wonder why we haven't seen anything of Euan Henderson. It's not like Ange has shied away from playing youth if short. Not even sure I've seen him in the squad training videos.

why cant any of our managers transition away from the side to side * ?

it looks to me like we are risk averse at times i.e. we wont play through balls when were playing a packed defence and we dont seem to like having a shots from outside or edge of the box , so were easily contained by a team or teams with a fraction of our budget

im starting to go right of the idea of us celtic having a certain style of play (possession) is what were known for a good long while now, it seems we adopted barcelonas possesion style but they had the best players in the world and probably the best football coaching, we dont have the smarts or ability to play that way, we wont hit the through balls because the players dont have the belief they can be successful and therefore dont want to be the one who gave possession away and caused everyone to chase back to their own goal, its a massive problem that needs sorted and it seems only rogic can help us with it, i really though mcgregor and turnbull would be better at through balls than they are

we need to be flexible so we can change it up to whatever will work to beat the opposition and it also has the benefit of the opposition dont know how to play us because we can change to beat whoever

were far too one dimensional and its been that way for a good while and now were starting from scratch without the proven talent and experience of tierney dembele edouard brown ajer sinclair boyata foster gordon forrest christie

this is what i worried about with ange hes philosphically welded to his idea of football and is unchangeable you can do that with a mid table club but you cant do that and expect to keep your job with a club that needs to win consistently

he has to be more practical

I think it has a lot to do with how football is now. Possession based systems statistically work much better than just punting it forward and trying to be gung ho. Your opponent can't create chances against you if you have the ball.

Lennon tried to employ a more direct system last season where we tried to be more direct and overload their goal, which was one of the reasons the likes of Christie shot from outside the box so often, and it wasn't very effective.

I like big Ange and he’s clearly a smart guy with a lot of football knowledge and a lot to offer the game, but in the event he * it up in the near future... do you think big Nuno would come here?

i understand why we do it but i dont understand when weve made the space for a shot or slide through ball why we make another pass wide its infuriating

I think that comes down to individual players' decision making. Better quality players generally make better decisions.

mcarthy has been really underwhelming player when he has played but has played probably the best through ball to jota, something i think we were all amazed he could do, but mcgregor and turnbull cant do that ? its just puzzling

anyways not to labour the point haha

Imagine having a capable Brazilian 10 in the side - would lift the side to a new level in terms of incisive passes and confidence to shoot.

i would say that Juranovic is quicker than Bitton and does not dwell on the ball as much as Bitton.

Many fans on this thread have a good idea how Ange likes to play and how he sets up his team, week by week.

This is not a good thing. If we know, then the opposition also knows.

Celtic needs to be unpredictable and creative also - not predictable. We need to have options in our play to trouble other teams we play. For me, it seems Ange does not create enough problems for opposition managers in SPL.

Week by week I am not surprised by how Celtic are set up to play. Like all of you, I hope each week that the team wins and that the players selected get used to correctly playing Ange's system.

The problem is that others can see Ange's system and the players he has to play that system.
No one should be surprised that Livingston has played us twice in the same way, but play other teams differently.

I have been watching EPL weekly highlights recently. Teams are shooting and scoring from about the 18yrd line, and fullbacks are also encouraged to cut in and shoot early from distance and with power. Cut backs from the wings have the ball going into the space between the 6yrd line and the 18yrd line - not into a congested area between the 6yrd line and the keeper's goal line.

We need to mix it up more and be less predictable. More shooting drills needed and then put into practise during the game.

Our Livingston games have shown us this.

The Ferencvaros game will be tough and we need to win it.

I feel it's instructions. I remember Rogić used to shoot far more, in previous years.

    What alot of rot!!
Just read an article in 67 hailhail
Despite Postecoglou making GG the designated penalty taker
"McAvennie believes McGregor should’ve played a more active role in handing the penalty to Juranovic".
    Seriously what a dumb *.
If you want a divided team. Sure don't listen to your coach.
