Wish he would cut this crap out, way too many lazy silly fouls.

Nice to read that his family feel settled here.

It’s nice to know definitely. Then again why wouldn’t they.

Some people can't adapt to a new country. My sister lived in South America for four years and came back because she wasn't settled there, for example.

I understand that. I’ve never had that struggle myself personally.

But the guy has been here for the best part of a decade, it’s safe to say he must be reasonably happy.

Thought he quietly had an excellent game when he came on.

Completely killed the game and took any momentum they were trying to build away from them.

That’s a couple of times Ange has turned to him in the situation. Seems the perfect player for that role.

He should be starting as the 6, CalMac as the 8 and Rogic as the 10

Imagine, using a calm collected midfielder to control the pace of the game, instead of pretending he's a CB for some reason. He's been wasted for years.

Play to his strengths and he’s an asset.

Have him out of position or firing 50 yarders 4 or 5 times a game and you’d be as well no playing him.

That is the only role I see him in, no good if chasing the game.

Agreed. Thought he had a very solid game when he came on Saturday and helped us comfortably see out the win. That is the role where he can be a valuable player to have in the squad for us.

At this stage, rather have him do that job than most other tasks.

As folk are saying, calm head to come on and slow a game down if needed, control the tempo late on and keep the head etc.

Is he the CM we need, not exactly, but he can do a decent job, better so than McCarthy at this stage. And other than early season every year, he doesn't often get a CB run when everyone else is fully firing.

I do agree with the sentiment that he needs to keep it simple. He isn't a CB and the couple of stonkers he smashed in under Deila were clearly a fluke. He's old enough now to know his best position and that is clearly sitting in front of the back 4 and calming things. He's played his best football there for us.

A fit James McCarthy is a far better player, but the issue is we don't have a fit James McCarthy yet. I would probably like to see him given a chance to prove himself before Bitton, though. The latter has had nearly 9 years to do that.

I still want another CM in January.

Really? I would take Bitton all day long ahead of JMcC.

A fit James Mccarthy at CM over Bitton?

Yes. Not even a doubt. Fair enough if you disagree but there's a reason Bitton hasn't played midfield for us for years.

Let's not get carried away at a couple decent games/sub cameos.

Defiantly not getting carried away over a few bang average cameos by Bitton.
More about how utter pish JMcC is.

Currently he's been gash aye, dont disagree.

But thats not what I said above. My point was more that hypothetically, a fully fit James McCarthy who has performed at EPL level and with him bringing all his attributes to the table, would be a better and more effective player than Nir Bitton, for Celtic.

If you've never liked him as a player then again, fair enough.

Bitton just doesn't move the ball fast enough to play CM under Ange. So many times today the ball came to him and someone was making a great run for him up front and he would just dither and look to the side or play it back.
