David Turnbull

That was as bad a performance from a player as I've seen in Europe.

Did nothing right all evening. Killed attacks dead and his mistake changed the game when we were going toe to toe with them.

 

Dreadful performance tonight and his schoolboy error began the rot. Needs dropped until he finds the form he used to have.

 

Not convinced he can cut it against anyone who isn't bottom 6 of the spfl consistently.

 

Ryan Christie you are dearly missed.

 

I know they are top players but watching their creative players getting about the park and pressing off the ball and yet being able to be creative on it was a real eye opener for me. I've personally said Turnbull needs to be released from his defensive duties but I think in the modern game carrying guys that can't do the off the ball graft just doesn't cut it anymore.

Even the Dundee Utd midfield had great mobility and workrate but also had creativity i.e Levitt and Harkes.

In the good teams...every player is a grafter...even the creative players. Turnbull really struggles off the ball.

 

He is capable of firing one in from 25 yards but it often masks a poor performance. I want to see creativity, defence splitting passes and most importantly taking control of the game. He doesnt seem to have a effective midfield partnership with Rogic. Im struggling to remember any quality interplay between them which is disappointing.

He has a lot to prove in the next few games, you just hope he isnt slowly being 'found out'. Its possible he is just having a crisis of confidence at the moment and he can show us what he can do in the coming weeks. If that doesnt happen the calls for him to be dropped will become louder and louder.

 

Any player who doesnt want to be here is certainly not missed by me. * him.

 

Think Turnbull is being played out of position, more of a attacking Midfield player behind the forward, seems to be told to play all over the place, at least he tried not like Rogic, no where to be seen, both can't play in same team

 

With him and Tam in the midfield, a nailed on certainty we are going to get over run in midfield against decent opposition.

 

Agree with what your saying but last night proved that Christie is a massive miss in those kind of games and not at least trying to replace him is probably the worst mistake we made this summer. Also taking the emotion out of it a don’t blame Christie for moving 18 months ago we showed absolutely no desire to keep him when we offered him by all a accounts a pish contract from what he’s worth no wonder he didn’t show us the same loyalty, am person in his shoes would have done the same thing everyday of the week

 

Needs benched, so slow and cumbersome.

 

We need to start questioning why players don’t want to be here.

 

Christie is the type of modern midfielder you need in these type of games. Brilliant engine, happy to do the dirty work but can still come alive in forward areas. Callum McGregor is the same. Those two with a CDM behind them is more the type of midfield that's needed, especially for our managers play style.

You can't carry guys like Rogic and Turnbull anymore, especially in games against an excellent European outfit. They are so one paced and cant get about the pitch the way you need them to.

 

Not *, not useless. But! He must be rotated with Rogić. Even the finest spice will run out, and the finest dish will become inedible, if you put too much.

 

I think Turnbull or the manager has to go as he cannot play the cur Style of football the manager wants to play , his fitness levels leave a lot to be desired.

 

He’s quickly proving my high hopes for him wrong. That mistake was horrendous and if it was a one off you could be more forgiving, but he’s been in poor form recently.

 

Needs benched to find some form again. Was abysmal last night.

 

Needs to spend some time on a tread mill trying to get fitter

 

In Christie's case, himself and his father are money hungry tight * who will follow the filthy ££'s no matter where that takes them.
