The window in context was a decent window. Definitely a step in the right direction from where we were.

If that’s true then the resignation of the guy that took that step should be terrifying, but so many just don’t give a *.

Aye, it was a tongue in cheek comment by me.

Ange will only care about on field performances and barely knew the CEO.

DD has proven time and again that it's his way or the high way and couldn't give a * about anyone else.

    You don't become a billionaire if you're not a *.

Can't wait for him to be out of our club. I cannae wait for him to be I. The stands and get * pelters.

If this Michael Nicholson is a such a great fit for the job, why did the board go searching high & wide for a suitable PL replacement?
Why wasn’t he given it when it was originally available?
    :97:
The part of the statement regarding Dom
is seriously Curt in my eyes to the point of being dismissive. No achievements or highlights mentioned, made even more noticeable when you see the eulogy for the new “acting CEO”

Don't want to speculate too much as the statement was vague and the rumours are contradicting each other but unless it's genuinely personal reasons (and you'd think that would need to be pretty severe to walk - in which case the statement was very cold) then it seems he's come in with a vision to modernise and make big changes and was being undermined by the board.

His face appearing on a GB flag at the Jablonec game when he was just in the door might have put the fear in him, basically he was always gonna be the fall guy for the boards incompetence and he thought * this I'm out.

    What a state.

I don’t agree that Ange won’t care to be honest.

He’s told us already he was on the phone every day with McKay. Ange is a professional and so no doubt he had plans for what should happen in January and next summer with regard to coaching infrastructure and players etc.

All that is now out the window. Months of work and planning is gone. Ange now has to see who comes in and re-do all those discussion. Any guarantees he had with McKay are gone. No doubt a big part of why McKay went is because the board already rejected what he had agreed with Ange.

Today, against Ross County, Ange won’t care, but people need to look at the bigger picture here. This is a massive development.

    Exactly right in my opinion.

This resignation is a massive statement. I said if the board are as bad as we all think then the only thing McKay can do to get my respect is to walk. That’s what he’s done, it’s now up to us to rally to sort out club.

The support have zero appetite to sort it.

I think as he's only been in the door for a few months, we'll never know what could've been. We can't even speculate as we have no idea what was going on behind the scenes and the potential he had modernising us.

I think the majority of tims see this as a huge set back as we look to be turning a corner and we shoot ourselves in the foot again. When you think our club couldn't be any more basket case, they intentionally go out of their way to prove there are new levels of despair we haven't yet discovered.

I don't buy that he has left due to personal reasons. If I'm right or wrong on the matter, I wish him nothing but the best. I do believe it's completely a professional matter. And when I say that, I mean he is a professional and we're a bunch of amateurs trying to play professional.

    Shoot the board.

Resigning is not going to do anything by itself. Explaining the reasons for the resignation would do the trick. E.g. "I resigned because my plans for the expansion of non-playing staff were blocked."

They should have used Desmond's face.

So what are we talking here

Did he jump before he was pushed?

I really can't understand the situation.

I think his idea of what's good for Celtic didn't align with the boards cash cow agenda.

That’s almost impossible due to the legal ramifications. They’d be able to sue him for all he’s worth.

The support need to get a clue and read between the lines. I thought the Eddie Howe stuff was obvious, but this really is as obvious as it will ever get.

Sorry, I wasn't clear when I said 'Ange wouldn't care'.

He won't care in the short term ie today. Medium and long term will be a headache for the reasons you've given.

We must act quickly at getting in a permanent replacement, which goes against all of our recruitment policies.

If you think Desmond is hands on enough to be making calls on ticket prices for qualifiers then you’re miles off.

The GB wrote to McKay after he had been announced and before he’d even joined the club. Welcoming him, stressing they were keen to improve communication with the club and start afresh with a new CEO. No response, no acknowledgment.

Trying to link the GB to his resignation/dismissal is strange behaviour

What if the actions he would hypothetically expose were illegal? And even if not, The board suing him would not save them from a catastrophe. If he's a Celtic fan, he should speak.

    Absolutely.

The support should work solely to remove Desmond and the board. If we don’t our club will continue to shrink.

Ignoring this is not worthy of the Celtic support. We’re turning into an apathetic lower English lower league support rather than a support that demands excellence.
