Anyone else get the vibe that Michael Nicholson will end up being full-time, permanent CEO.

He ticks all the boxes for the PLC - brought to the club by Lawwell, worked closely with Bankier, worked there for 8 years and won’t rock the boat.

Bankier’s choice of words gives it away for me when he says that Nicholson can help us achieve our current and ‘future’ objectives.

If this turns out to be true then serious questions need to be asked.

 

Don’t have a clue about anything legal but I’d imagine they’ll have asked him to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement so that he can’t speak about any ongoings at Celtic for a lengthy period of time.

 

Definitely getting that vibe. A low ranked employee who has worked their way up, a yes man who the * on the board know will be their puppet. All points towards another pals act appointment doesn’t it?!

The talk was that he believes all will be forgotten as soon as Celtic start winning again, and I agree with that - so long as we’re top of the league he’ll be welcomed by the majority, unfortunately.

 

Not worrying about Nicholson just now, probably an issue for the end of the season but I don't think he'll be getting the job on a permanent basis.

For me, we should really be pushing on with our DOF search, get that done then focus on the CEO position.

Is that too much to ask Celtic?

Until it comes out why he left ,which might clear it up for everybody, Nicholson will just reinforce that the board don’t give a * about us fans at at all tbh.

 

Very much back to the future he came in and said we need modernised then within a matter of weeks we had Strachan in as a consultant and Desmond directly involved in transfers seems to me he's been undermined every step of the way.

 

The talk from who, where?

 

I think the CEO situation has to be front and centre mate - we cannot wait until the end of the season to find a replacement.

I do agree that McKay leaving gives us the chance to reassess the DOF situation. We should be looking to bring in a CEO and DOF at the same time.

The board are definitely briefing against him.

 

Celtic have become one of them businesses where if you don't know someone high up you won't get in the door. Complete and utter jobs for the boys, they wonder why the gulf between boardroom and fans is so great. This just reiterates what we already know.

 

This could rumble on for months and we may never find out. What a way to undermine the team and unsettle everyone if he's been pushed.

I remember seeing rumours elswhere that Bankier was set to step down this season too, could play into that "Boardroom revolution" they're talking about.

Would be a good start, but it's Desmond we need gone pronto.
