3 or 4 weeks out. Talking about him missing Ross County, Livi, Dundee Utd. Possibly Aberdeen.

Those are the premiership games which for me are really all that matters this season.

If we can’t navigate them with one player injured then we don’t deserve to win the league.

I literally said we need two quality players for each position, not “300 * players”. That’s not an unrealistic requirement. Three strikers would be sufficient, if one of those wasn’t also our first/second choice left winger and the other hadn’t shown so far that he’s not good enough. Can you honestly say that come Saturday, if we’re drawing 0-0 after an hour, you’d be happy seeing Ajeti and Montgomery coming on to replace Giakoumakis and Jota? What if it was rangers or Europe, rather than at home to Ross County?

Our squad is light on reliable options, that’s absolutely undeniable.

Abada can play up front and has done in his career.

Neither has played a competitive game since the end of last season (4 months ago). In Jota’s case, he’s not played 90 minutes in over a year.

    Neither is match fit.

And if Forrest is injured (like he has been and possibly still is), who are you playing right wing?

We’ve also tried the whole playing Christie, Morgan, young American lad etc up front in the recent past. Shoehorning players into positions doesn’t work.

    Our squad should be stronger.

I’m assuming both have a full pre season under their belt?

It’s still essentially the start of the season. If they have done a full pre season then they should be fit enough.

Why has Jota not played 90 mins in over a year? Injuries or simply not good enough to be selected?

It’s not shoehorning players. It’s buying players that can play multiple positions.

Christie was never a striker and Morgan was pish everywhere.

Thank Christ we made sure we had depth before the window shut.

I’m honestly not sure. I was under the impression that Giakoumakis hadn’t been involved with Venlo as they knew he was leaving. Not sure how much preseason game time Jota seen.

Regardless, neither are match fit and it can’t just be assumed that they’ll hit the ground running.
He had a few injuries and also didn’t really suit his side’s style (as they were largely on the back foot) which won’t have helped.
I’m all for buying players who are versatile. Playing Abada up front while Forrest (and Dembele) are injured only creates a void at right wing though, so it doesn’t get away from the fact that our squad lacks depth.

Yeah. Only Jota, Abada, GG, Forrest, Ajeti, Montgomery to fill 3 forward positions.

We don't really have a lack of depth in the forward roles, it's easy to complain about Ajeti but we're not really going to get much better for a third choice Striker.

    It's midfield that's the worry.

Out for a month. As soon as we sell Eddy, Kyogo gets injured FFS.

Lets just hope Giakoumakis is up to it because the thought of having to rely on Ajeti to score goals gives me the fear.

This is another big test of our squads credentials as title contenders. We were going to lose Kyogo at some stage throughout the season so need some of the others to step up and keep us in the hunt over the next few weeks. Hopefully Giakoumakis can prove to be good business.

Knew it wouldn't be long before he would be oot injured, bit of a * but we do have decent options in the attacking department.

Most likely it will be Ajeti tomorrow starting as judging from Ange's comments Giorgos is the furthest behind match fitness wise of the news lads.
