been thinking lads, we'are all tims here(well apart from some suspicious members), but if you werent a tim, who do you think you would be supporting?
i would be an everton fan(mum and dad have a mixed marriage and hada big family fued when dad married my catholic mum) because. of this they tried to keep me from supporting celtic, or that other lot.
anyway they bought me everton stuff and i supported them until i was about seven and i seen the light
    soooo who would it be?

Probably Partick Thistle because I would never support the huns and staying in the West End of Glasgow, they're my local team. But I was never destined to be anything other than a Celtic fan.. I still cherish my first ever memory, which was the time I started supporting Celtic at the age of 3.....
I asked my dad who was watching tv what he was watching and he said football.. I asked who was playing.. He replied Celtic and Hibs.. I asked who he wanted to win.. He said Celtic.. I said "me too" and that was me officially a Celtic fan lol

Rangers. My grandad stayed in Dennistoun when he was younger, he was a Rangers fan but couldnt afford the fair to Ibrox, and as Celtic Park is obviously quite close to Dennistoun he just went there and supported the hoops

P.S.Hi parents died young and he was about 10 when he made this decision, he was only a hun because his best friend was one

    Interesting question buddy.

Like you I am the offspring of a mixed marriage. My mum was a Catholic and my old man a Protestant (and contrary to what other members will tell you I do know who my father is !). My da marrying a pape did not go down well with his family and some of my earliest memories are of my mum being upset after family do's (the Protestant side). I was too young to understand but now I realise that that she was subject to sectarian abuse from them. Fair play to my old man though, despite our family having all the dysfunctions you would expect from a working class family in the 70s, he pretty much ditched his side of the family because of their treatment of my mum. So me and my brother really didn't have much to do with them for many years.

Consequently our extended family were all Catholics of Irish descent and I was steeped in the Celtic tradition from my earliest years, particularly from my Papa (my mum's da). But he had a wee soft spot for Clyde because he had grown up in Shawfield. So I would probably have been a Clyde fan.

I do quite admire supporters of the smaller clubs. It is a very different thing from following Celtic, or Rangers or Man U or Liverpool etc etc. The real supporters of the wee clubs go along week in week out with little chance of a trophy, watching * players but still supporting their club. That takes a real love of the game and I admire that. If Celtic went out of business I'd go for Clyde.

I honestly couldnt see supporting anyone else. My dad (before he * off) raised me on green and white, was born and raised in coatbridge, all my friends were celtic fans, we only knew 1 hun who lived near us and nobody really liked him (he was the smelly kid) I went to a catholic school so we were all celtic daft. I dont think I would have even been into football if I wasnt a celtic fan.

Interesting question and one I dont have a sure answer on.

I like to watch Arsenal and Barcelona plus Valencia are my "local" team down in Spain so probably one of those three.

Probably Aberdeen, My mums side of the family are all from aberdeen and all wanted me to support aberdeen but my dads side of the family who are all irish wanted me to support celtic as a young boy I spent more time with my dads side of the family so it was probably that which influenced me to support celtic and not aberdeen.

No idea, like Andy the other teams beside Celtic that I like to watch are Arsenal and Barca and my local is Falkirk so I would guess one of the three probably.

yup martin, mixed marriages in the seventies were brutal, my dad never spoke to his family for years because of him marrying my mum. 35 * years he has stayed with her( he could have killed her twice and still been out lol)
any way, back to the point in hand, i also admire folk who support small teams and in a way im sometimes just a little envious(and i mean only a little) when qos or airdrie or someone have thier day at a cup final, know what i mean?

I know what you mean because those wee teams reaching the Scottish cup final is like the equivalent of us making the CL final or something along those lines lol...

Good question i've never even contemplated. Both parents are Celtic fans, both families all Celtic fans, my mates are Celtic fans and everyone i associate almost to the last person is a Celtic fan.

I reckon it would be a small local team, i live 100 yards from Rob Roys ground so probably them.

I know exactly what you mean. I'll get pelters for this but I went along to see Airdrie v Kilmarnock in the cup last season. In my defence I must add that Airdrie were due to face us in the next round (at Airdrie's ground) and if they'd won and I was just going to pay a for box there and then and my mates would have all chipped in. I had also been working there in the just before the Killie game and was invited along by a guy I know (and work with) who is heavily involved with Airdrie. It was a very interesting experience going to the game with him. I could see that the fans are, quite literally, more involved with the club, more vital to it's existence. They all know each other and know the players and so on. It felt more like a club than a business.

Man Utd followed them as a kid when living in Manchester, still like to see them do well but would´t class myself as a true supporter.

Clyde would have been my team in Scotland as my old man followed them, after they gave him a trial in the 60´s. Thank * he never made it and thank * Celtic exists as following clyde all these years, would have been torture.
