That kind of approach to buying up young Scottish (or in Scotland) talent would be a good one, seen that kind of approach work for plenty other clubs.

Same with sniping off top talent from championship etc, I'll use the Nisbet example again, he was 300k to hibs even add a "Celtic premium" and of we'd paid 400k it would have been a relatively low risk signing even if he flopped vs the Bayo/klimala/kouassi types.

We've had successes with it plenty as well Christie, Scott Mcdonald, Morgan (yes, we made money on that one and he's going up in value after being named MVP for miami last year, could be decent if we have a sell on) Mackay-steven in recent years (plus Armstrong etc but that was for actual money)

Doesn't always work out see Scott Allan, Paul slane etc (Ignoring Ciftci from this for same reasons as Armstrong that was for actual money and thus carries higher risk) but that's just tye nature of things, can't win all of them.

 

My thinking with the 30% would be that clubs will want to try get the 3-4million that they think they could get in a couple of years.

They'd rather not sell him now, instead sell as an 18 or 19 year old for that money.
So if we sneak in now, offer the potential of that sort of money (they know we would sell for double figures) then it maybe convinces them to take the chance. Specially if we allow the loan.

I literally put this in another thread. We should be buying these players up and loaning then back out for two years immediately to their current club or to that of a similar level. It ain't rocket science.

Literally get him in on a 5 year deal and have a 2 year loan back immediately in place with an option of a third.

If that’s true, loan deals it is then which is disappointing.

He looks tricky from footage but his stats in terms of end product don’t look great. If your picking between him and Lovric it would be Lovric all day for me.

 

If it’s Jota, hopefully an option to buy at the end.

 

That jota isn't very good and I'd much rather many other players.

 

Was he playing at the under 21 Euro's this summer?

I don't give a * if we all our deals are loan's from here on in, as long as we get more in..

 

Jota was on loan at Real Vallodolid last year. He was mince. However, so were that team overall. Would probably be more suited to an attacking team and would look better but I think Lovric would be better acquisition. Jota would ultimately be a loan with possibly an option to buy but they may not want to sell him at all.

 

Jota was tipped to be the next big thing at SLB, he was outstanding playing in their juniors (youth sides) and for the national side in various championships.

However he does have an attitude problem and this has hindered his development into the first team.

Benfica have loaned Radonjic who is a left winger and see him ahead of Jota.

I don’t want anyone in the side who could cause problems.

We need to sign a permanent left winger and not shore that position up with loans.

 

Apparently we’ve shown an interest in Lewis Ferguson as one of a few options as a potential midfield target before the window closes.

Aberdeen signing the lad Longstaff today would potentially increase the odds of that.

Aberdeen will want around £5 million for Ferguson, no chance we pay that thankfully.

 

Would be very surprised if McCann isn’t considered one of those options too.

 

Why do we need anymore midfielders? We need to get rid of some before we even look to sign McCann/Ferguson

 

Were we or a Scottish team not linked to Patrick Berg from Bodo Glimt earlier in the the window? He could be another option as a versatile midfield player.
